Florida's tournament calendar is spread across several metro areas rather than one city. Tampa hosts the most events, followed closely by Orlando, Coral Springs, Miami and Jacksonville, with Lakeland, Fort Lauderdale, Pensacola, Estero and Davie also on the schedule.
NEWBREED is the most active organizer, with recurring events including the Miami Tropical Winter Open, the Orlando Samurai Series, the Florida Crystal Cup and fall championships in Jacksonville and Coral Springs. Grappling Industries Tampa, the NAGA Orlando Grappling Championship, the American No-Gi Nationals and Guardians of the Gi return regularly, and FUJI BJJ, the American Grappling Federation (AGF), PBJJF and the girls-only ChickJitsu series also run Florida events.
Gi and No-Gi divisions are evenly balanced, around one in four events runs kids divisions, and about a third offer an absolute. Adult entry typically costs around $21–$150, with a median of about $52. November and September are the busiest months, followed by August and October.
