Destin hosts BJJ tournaments from several Southeast organizers. The American Grappling Federation runs the AGF Destin Open and AGF Destin Championships, NEWBREED holds spring and fall Destin championships, and FUJI BJJ runs the Destin Fall Championship. Chickjitsu has also held an event in nearby Mary Esther, and some events take place in Fort Walton.
Most events offer both Gi and No-Gi divisions, around seven in ten include kids divisions and roughly two in five offer absolute divisions. Events are spread through the year, with July the busiest month.
