London has the busiest BJJ competition calendar in the UK by a wide margin, with events almost every weekend. Grappling Industries London is the most frequent event, returning many times a year.
All Stars BJJ is the most active organiser, running All Stars BJJ London, Capital, Metropolis, Winter South and the All Stars BJJ Europeans. Other regular events include the English Open, the NAGA London Grappling Championship, AGC Friendly events from Absolute Grapple, and competitions from 6162 BJJ, London Warriors Events and Pro Sport Grappling.
Gi divisions are slightly more common than No-Gi, around a third of events include an absolute and roughly one in six run kids divisions. IBJJF rules are the most common ruleset, and round-robin brackets are widely used. Adult entry typically costs around £10–£65. Summer is peak season, with July, August and September the busiest months, followed by November and October.
