Fort Lauderdale hosts a regular BJJ tournament calendar in South Florida, with occasional events in nearby Pompano Beach.
The UFC BJJ Open Fort Lauderdale No-Gi is the most frequent recurring event. Compnet runs several local tournaments, including the Compnet South Florida Summer Championship, the Compnet Fort Lauderdale Winter Championship and the Compnet Pompano Beach Summer Championship. Beach Jiu-Jitsu Combat Wars, Submission Station and events from 3 Step Sports and PBJJF North America also appear on the calendar.
No-Gi divisions are slightly more common than Gi, and around a quarter of events include kids divisions or an absolute division. October is the busiest month, followed by August, September, February and November.
