Atlanta hosts about a third of Georgia's BJJ tournaments, more than any other city in the state. Savannah and Alpharetta follow, with Macon, Sharpsburg, Douglasville, Valdosta and Augusta also hosting regular events.
NEWBREED is especially active in Georgia, running the Georgia State Championship, the Georgia Crystal Cup, the Samurai Series and a No-Gi Global Grappling Championship in Macon. FUJI BJJ holds the Georgia State Championship and an Atlanta Winter Championship, and other recurring events include the AGF Columbus Open, the PBJJF Atlanta Spring International Open and The Good Fight's GA Sub-Only Open.
Gi and No-Gi divisions are offered in roughly equal measure, and around one in four events runs kids divisions. Adult entry fees range from about $25 at smaller events to around $190 for larger championships. August and October are the busiest months, followed by September.
