This event will run both Gi and NoGi:

Junior - Under 16yr

Juvenile - Under 18yr

Adult - Under 29yr

Masters 1 - Above 30yr

Masters 2 - Above 40yr

Senior 1 - Above 50yr

Male and female divisions.

Registration for Absolute Divisions will be open on the day of the event for the following divisions: Blue Belt to Black Belt Adult, Masters & Seniors. Registration for absolutes will be open to division medalists only. 

Judo Black Belts and Pro MMA fighters must register for the Blue Belt division.

Brackets and match schedules will be published via smoothcomp and will be updated live throughout the event. Athletes should be in the warm up area 60 minutes ahead of the start of the division. It is the athletes responsibility to check-in with their mat co-ordinator when called. Any athletes not present at the start time of their division will be disqualified.  

Competition Format & Rules

This event is a Gi & NoGi competition

Submission ruleset as per IBJJF

Uniform - All athletes' uniform is required to be clean and presentable. If the athlete’s uniform does not meet requirements, they will have one opportunity to find a suitable replacement or will be disqualified. All junior athletes will be required to wear a rashguard top beneath their Gi.

Weigh-ins - Athletes are able to weigh in without a Gi. Those athletes competing in both Gi and NoGi will only be required to weigh in once. You may weigh in at anytime on the day, priority being given to those competing first in the day. Organisers will allow up to 0.5kg allowance for Junior and Juvenile athletes only, if athletes fail to make weight they will be disqualified. 

One coach per competitor will be permitted to sit mat-side for the duration of the match. Coaches passes will be allocated depending on the number of competitors per club. 1 coaches pass 1-5 competitors. 2 coaches passes for more than 5 competitors

Coaches passes will be given out to clubs on a first come first served bases on reception. It is down to the teams to organise coaches passes between themselves. 

Coaches must remain seated during matches and must not interfere with event officials. All athletes and coaches must leave the competition area once their matches have finished. 

Prizes

Medals will be awarded to Gold, Silver and joint Bronze placed competitors. 

Team Trophies will be awarded for Best Overall Team for both Gi and NoGi

Results will be updated and available live via smoothcomp.

Photos will be posted to THE JIU JITSU DERBY Facebook page following the event. 

THE EVENT ORGANISERS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ENTRY OR ADMISSION. THE RESPECT RULE WILL BE IN OPERATION AND ANY COMPETITOR, COACH OR SPECTATOR THAT BREAKS THIS RULE WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE EVENT.
