Description

Welcome to the second nogi BJJ open to be held in Central Otago!

We will continue to run a low cost, high value competition series to reflect what we all put in to be able to compete at a high level.

Kids and adults brackets -brackets to be published day after registrations close.

Please sign up to your correct weight or edit your entry before registrations close.

Any changes please reach out to us via email to ensure changes are made.

Round robin bracket system dependent on registration numbers, all entries will have multiple matches, including true second and third.

Ruleset similar to SJJF rules, slight differences including:

Arm in strangles (darce/anaconda/arm in guillotine) allowed in age 11yo and up kids brackets -refs are briefed on crank vs strangle for these specifically to ensure safety.

Twisting knee submissions allowed from Advanced Adult brackets upwards (purple and above).

No jumping guard (flying submissions allowed).

No reaping unless in advanced brackets.

Absolute brackets for male and female!

$20 entry fee, winner takes all. (Cash prize for first place in absolute -male and female brackets only).

IF we have enough entries, this time we plan to run two male absolute brackets (White/Blue and Purple/Brown/Black).

We aim to get sponsors to match the entry fees for the absolute, meaning the cash prize may be doubled!

Last event the winner of the male absolute bracket walked away with $260 in cash, female absolute with $120.
