Description

Weigh in at 8:30-9:30am at NZ-SMA club. Hathaway terrace (Old Celtic Squash courts in the car park of the Trafalgar rugby grounds). 

Under 10s challenge 10am - 11:30am (up to 12yrs if they don't want to fight in competition but would like to take part in event)

Fights start 12pm in Marist Club Rooms (Next door to NZ-SMA)

Tag team will be at the end of the day.

Weight catagories announced after all registrations are in, so please register your walking weight/ no weigh cuts. It is light contact and weights may be mixed to give everyone fights.

Protective equipment: Gloves, shin guards, feet pads, mouth guard, groin guard, breast guard. Some loaner gear available.

Would appreciate judges, if they can be supplied from clubs.

Family friendly event. No alcohol, food on site and available within walking distance.

This is a relaxed, fun and safe event with a focus on giving fighters time on the mats in a competitive environment that has contolled contact.

Schedule
Under-10s challenge 10:00–11:30; fights start 12:00 in Marist Club Rooms (next door to NZ-SMA). Tag team at end of day.
Weigh-In
Weigh-in 8:30–9:30am at NZ-SMA club (Hathaway Terrace, Old Celtic Squash courts in Trafalgar rugby grounds car park). Register walking weight; no weigh cuts. Weight categories announced after registrations; weights may be mixed to give fights.

Divisions

  • Point Fighting$35
    Point fighting - start/stop. As soon as a point is scored, the fight is stopped, and the point is awarded to the fighter. This continues until the end of the rounds or where a fighter scores a 10 point lead.
  • Tag Team$35
    Tag team - Points are accumulated over 5 mins. Fighters tag in/out their team with 1 fighter from each team on the mats at any given time. Controlled contact, no elbows, spinning back fist, knees or calf kicks.
  • Light Continuous$35
    Light Continuous - continuous fighting over several rounds, controlled contact, all targets above the waist. No leg kicks, knees, or elbows.
  • K1 Light$35
    K1 Light - Controlled contact. Continuous fighting over several rounds. Leg kicks allowed, clinch and immediate release with 1 slap knee allowed. No elbows, spinning back fist or calf kicks allowed.
  • Under 10yrs challenge$35
    This is a challenge with several stations testing age appropriate skill, co-ordination, fitness and light sparring. All participants will recieve an award once completed.
