As the founder of Legion Grappling Academy, Dr. Amir Eslami represents the bridge between tradition and modern grappling science. Inheriting a wealth of wrestling knowledge from his father, he has dedicated his life to refining and expanding that system into a holistic martial arts curriculum. His journey in submission grappling and Jiu Jitsu began in 1998. Decades of dedication culminated in 2024, when he was awarded his Black Belt by the renowned Jude Samuel. Dr. Amir's approach to coaching is analytical and precise. He views grappling not as a collection of random moves, but as a structured language that can be mastered through systematic study. His goal is to demystify complex techniques, making high-level grappling accessible to everyone.

My gym has been closed for a few days due to technical issues so I contacted Legion Grappling and asked if I could come and have a one off BJJ session as I was feeling lazy having not trained for a few days.. they welcomed me without hesitation and treated me like one of thier own students. Great atmosphere and great lesson delivered by coach Shamal. I would visit more if I was local. Thanks Legion Grappling. You're a great bunch.

I started wrestling recently at Coach Mohammed sessions and it’s been a great experience. Amazing atmosphere, very friendly and welcoming. Feel like I've already learnt so much. Coach Mohammed is really helpful, supportive and push you., everyone there is respectful and always willing to help each other improve, a great community in the gym . Highly recommend for anyone at any level

The Best place to be if you are looking to improve your fitness your confidence . Great Coaches . It’s been an amazing journey so far and especially for the younger generation my son is 7 and almost 6 months in he is so STRONG 🤩🏆🙏

My children have been attending Legions Wrestling for over 7 years now, and I honestly cannot recommend this club highly enough. The coaches are absolutely fantastic — dedicated, encouraging, and genuinely invested in the development of every child. The discipline, confidence, resilience, and respect my children have gained through wrestling here is something truly special. It’s not just about the sport; it’s about building strong character and helping young people grow into confident teenagers. The environment is positive, structured, and supportive, while still pushing the kids to reach their full potential. We are incredibly grateful to be part of such an outstanding club. I can’t recommend Legion Grappling Academy enough! The coaching is outstanding, with instructors who are knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about helping everyone improve, no matter their level. Been at legion for the past year and I have nothing but good things to say. The club feels like home, having a warm welcoming environment with good facilities and top level coaching across all aspects of grappling, whether that’s wrestling or bjj. Genuinely a really good club to come to if you’re looking for a high level place to train and feel at home
