I do Pilates with Hyo and love it. It’s very beginner friendly and she is so supportive throughout.
Hi! After over a year of coming to the gym, I attended my first ever classes this week with Hyo (Pilates on Sunday and another today). She was really good, super friendly and kind. she took extra time to encourage me, answer my questions, and make me feel totally at ease. I really enjoyed both sessions! Also, I wanted to mention that the gym floor and changing rooms are always spotless:)
I was the only one to turn up to a class and Hyo trained one to one with me. She is lovely and very knowledgeable and her pilates class is my favourite thing about the gym
Hyo showed me how to use the seated leg curl machine it was really helpful
I’ve been training for years and have been to quite a few gyms, and this is definitely one of the most comfortable environments I’ve worked out in. It’s usually clean, doesn’t get overly crowded, and the atmosphere makes it easy to focus on your training. They’ve also recently fixed the air conditioning, which has made workouts so much more enjoyable. One of my favourite things is the Friday HIIT class-it’s always challenging, well run, and something I genuinely look forward to every week. Overall, a great gym. I’d definitely recommend it!
First time visiting PureGym Central, first impressions, the gym is very spacious, clean and well air conditioned. It has all the machines needed for a workout and I enjoyed my time there. Looking forward to coming back next month when I'm in Liverpool for a few days.
This gym might not be for everyone as it's in the basement with no windows. I like the total lack of daylight and lots of space so you don't feel like people are too close etc. The other gym users are mostly sound, quiet and respectful. Little to no people on steroids so you don't feel like someone is gonna go off on a 'roid rage over the slightest misunderstanding or inconvenience. Doesn't seem like anyone is out to prove anything at this gym. People just come for a no fuss workout and I like that. I've had good interactions with the staff and they seem friendly overall. Male lockers need sorted out as they are practically falling apart. Equipment isn't that bad. It's a bargain price gym so curb your expectations if you want state of the art gear. If the lockers got fixed I'd probs give it 5 stars!
Do yourself a favour and go to another gym. There's a new manager but the same issues. They've done lots of things that are good. They replaced some equipment and they are putting new showers in and they actually have a cleaner that does an excellent job after years of neglecting that area. However. They "fixed" the air con. Which has not worked properly for the whole 3 years I've trained here. Less than a month after "fixing" the air con it doesn't work again and the heat in this gym is ridiculous. Its the final straw for me and I will be sharing it with the 8 million strong UK email list I have. Its important that this gym gets boycotted on health grounds.
WORST GYM IN THE CITY IF NOT England. The air conditioning issue in this gym is the most ridiculous thing. It's has been broken for years and they never fixed it properly. The place is constantly roasting and very dangerous for people who need to breathe ie everybody. It's a massive joke. The machines are all missing something. The chest fly machine seat has been broken for over a year. The lat pulldown machine seat has been broken for over a year. The pad on the lat pulldown machine has been falling off for months. One of the cable machines locks don't work properly and I've seen loads of people get injured using it. The gym is simply a cash cow taking advantage of students. A recent whiteboard notice was put near the entrance of the gym asking members to ignore the issues and give them 10/10 rating because any less and the management don't get their bonuses. That kind of disregard for the customer is the last straw for me. Most of the regulars in the gym have gone to XF and Empowered. I advise you to do the same. .
