Really great club - I’m not local so only able to visit occasionally. Always welcomed, always get to train hard. Coaches are all volunteers and really show a passion for Jiu Jitsu. 5 stars.

Over the last 3 years this club as been an extended family. The training on the mat and the socializing off the mat is best thing that I will take away from my time at university. The teachers are great in bringing out the best in their students. The club welcomes new students at all levels of experience. Definitely worth getting involved.

My son joined this club a few months ago. He's 16 and autistic. I'm am disgusted to say one of the instructors singled him out every week, for example, when he partnered up students, he would make sly remarks to and about my son, such as, 'Go with a student who is actually going to pass grading' or tell my son in front of others, 'You're too slow, get with the beginners'. This was making him feel uncomfortable. Every week after class, my son would come home feeling deflated and angry. I'm pretty sure, after a club like this, you're supposed to leave feeling motivated, encouraged and elated. At first, I thought it was because he was wearing the wrong colour Gi (black instead of white) There is still no excuse for his unprofessional and poor behaviour/attitude. He had ordered a white gi and was waiting for it to arrive. Then my son received a message from the instructor stating he couldn't come back because he was under 18. Even though on the form, his dad signed the section for under 18. When my son challenged him on this, the instructor's reply was, 'It's the same form for adults and children'. This makes no sense to me. If under 18's can't join then why have a section for parents to sign?? It seems to me the instructor was trying to find a way to get rid of him. He took an instant dislike to him and made sly remarks most weeks. That, too me, is classed as bullying. Shame on you!

This club is definitely what I miss most when I'm not in Liverpool. The idea of doing something like this was totally outside of my comfort zone when I first joined but I can honestly day I've never enjoyed anything more. The people are brilliant and the instructors are amazing, I would highly recommend giving it a go!
