My son went here and he absolutely loved it! He was 3/4. It helped with self control and confidence really good. I was skeptical but seeing him grow in ata was amazing! Ppl here work well with kids!

Champion Martial Arts has been so amazing for our now 6.5 year old son! He started at this school when he was 3.5 in the ATA Tigers program. Over the last 3.5 years, with the help and support of the staff, he graduated from the Tigers program last month with a Tiger Blackbelt! He is now training to move up in rank to earn his "real" Blackbelt. The owner and staff of Champion Martial Arts are amazing people and we now consider them family!!
This place has been the single most influential part of my son's life the last 3 years. As a single mother, I am always looking extracurricular activities for my boys. Specifically ones who are positive outside influences who can not only be fun for the boys, but ones that can give them life lessons and reinforce my goals as a parent. Since my son has been taking classes here, he has learned confidence, stayed physically fit and become stronger, learned self-discipline and self-defense, made amazing friends, has overcome failures and come back stronger, and has goals of becoming a business owner and owing his own martial arts school. I don't exaggerate when I say this place has been life changing for both my son and myself and I am forever grateful. Champion Martial Arts is not just a karate school, they are family and have helped me raise my son into the respectful, goal oriented, kind, strong, resilient, confident, young man he is.
After enrolling our son at Champion Martial Arts in May 2018 and watching him obtain his black belt in December 2020, his father and I decided it was our time to join him in 2021. My husband is now a 2nd degree black belt and I will be testing for my black belt in May with our son testing for his 2nd degree! We love it so much, we started instructing at the school, too! I teach the preschoolers in the Tiger program, my husband teaches forms class and my son assists with the White, Orange and Yellow belt classes! It truly is a family school!
The staff are friendly and they clean the machines more than I’ve seen at any of the other locations.

We are so glad we put our Kids in class at Champion ATA. Our kids have learned respect, hardwork and determination from these classes. All of the instructors are great with the kids and are very knowledgeable about Taekwondo. If you live in Oakland and want your kids involved in something, I highly recommend Champion Oakland ATA!
My daughter has been taking lessons for approximately 18 months with Mr. Robert and Mr. Travis in that time her self esteem and self confidence has improved exponentially. She has received medal after medal competing all over the eastern US and has earned two state titles. The instructors are concerned with the whole well being of the children who train under them and wish only for the kids to succeed on or off the mat!
I’ve been a student here for almost 7 years and they have taught me so much self confidence, self control, integrity, leadership, and so much more. I became a helper and soon instructor about 3 years ago, which taught me patience and humility. It’s an amazing school which has long since turned into a fantastic family. I will always consider this my second home no matter how far away I may move away. It is a great place to come learn and grow, no matter what you need!
