Super fun! In 40 mins I just burned 426 calories!! 👊🏻💥
I was traveling on a business trip and they were very friendly and welcoming. The instructor are very knowledgeable. The school was very well kept up and I would definitely recommend going if you’re in town.
Memphis Judo Jiu- Jitsu is a great place to learn Mma, Muay Tai, Boxing and kick- boxing! The staff is amazing and friendly. The people is amazing and friendly. I highly recommend anyone to join and become a part of the family!!
First time boxing here after a long break. Amicable people and fun instructor
Fun group to visit and train with!
So happy to encourage any and everyone to be a part of Memphis Jiu Jitsu and Judo. They are friendly and excellent instructors. I am older and decided I needed exercise and feel like like I could take care of myself. It’s working!
Great! Amazing! Awesome!
great gym coaches are very helpful
I’ve gone here for a while now love it! Even after a hard day at work it’s the best way to end the day and get in a good workout! Highly would recommend!! :))
Love the Intense training, Learning and the friendly environment. Definitely recommend joining the family here
Awesome place to train. The coach is very knowledgeable and great at breaking down techniques. The members are welcoming and are considerate training partners. The mats are clean and there is plenty of space. If I lived in the area, I would definitely train there.
This will be a short review - primarily on the owner, Brooke. I live in Fort Lauderdale and was in search of a boxing gym. I was going to be in Memphis over the Christmas holidays and sent an email. Received a response from Brooke the same day encouraging me to drop in. Wanting to ensure that I created the proper approach, I asked about the cost to attend a few drop-in classes while in town. She provided information on Bot's Boxing which operates from the same building at Memphis Judo. Brooke was very welcoming and instead of payment, asked for a review of their facility, instructors and the environment. My 5 Star rating speaks for itself, and i look forward to returning to the business when I'm in Memphis again.
I recently had the pleasure of attending an open mat session at Memphis Judo and Jiu-Jitsu, and it was an outstanding experience! From the moment I stepped in, everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxed yet energetic, making it a perfect place to train and connect with others who share a love for Jiu-Jitsu. During the open mat, I was impressed by how inviting and supportive the group was. People of all skill levels were happy to roll, share techniques, and offer insights, creating a collaborative and encouraging environment. If you’re looking for a gym with a strong sense of community and a passion for Jiu-Jitsu, I can’t recommend Memphis Judo and Jiu-Jitsu enough. I’ll definitely be back for more!
Top notch facility with excellent team members!
This is definitely the place!!

Awesome place... wonderful staff...
Great so far. Went for my first free class and I plan to sign up.
I love this place! Excellent place to workout. The staff is amazing!!
My name is Tray Becton-Martin, Certified Personal Trainer/Group Fitness Manager with Crunch Fitness. I practice Ninjutsu with the Bujinkan Organization. Today I signed up with Memphis Judo and Jiu-jitsu today after experiencing one free day of Judo class. The gym is exactly what I was looking for, having multiple programs, weights and a clean business oriented gym. Thanks so much.
Enjoy training here with me and my husband. So far everyone has been welcoming!
I had an amazing experience here while visiting from out of town. Brooke was incredibly welcoming and helpful in getting me set up, and Professor Donny was an outstanding teacher. The other students were friendly, welcoming, and fun to train with. I’m excited to come back and visit every time I’m in town! Thanks so much to everyone at the academy for a great time training!
Awesome gym and staff..instructor is are patient but very driven..highly recommended!!
Great gym, even better people. I’m from the Cleveland area and have been training for roughly 4 years. I visit Memphis often for business and didn’t want to miss a day of training. I decided to drop in after visiting their website and needless to say, I found a gym to train at during my visits. The people were all welcoming and friendly. Great training partners as well. I highly recommend if you looking to begin your journey in judo or BJJ. If you’re looking for a gym or visiting the area, this is the place to train. Thanks for having my team Memphis Judo and Jiu Jitsu.
Definitely a great place to train and learn new things. The coaches and students were welcoming and respectful when I visited them I can't wait to go back
My daughter is 11 and over 5’ so she is in the teen class for 6-7 weeks now. She absolutely loves it here. Staff and coaches are great. They offer so many classes with different disciplines so you can maximize your experience.
go
I love group workout sessions. They help on ground reality of my skills and meet new people. I signed up for 6 months and later signed up for 1 year membership. My experience is better to learn some new offensive and defensive techniques in a fight rather than playing around with dumb weights.
Great Service! Amazing Experience!! Friendly staff!!
Amazing, fun and clean environment.. I recommended for your entire family.
Awesome gym!!! I
I have loved Jeff’s BJJ classes. The instruction is clear, the atmosphere is safe but challenging, and I felt welcomed and encouraged from day 1. It’s been a great experience!
Great place to learn and train judo. It was a pleasant experience while I was in the US, greetings from Peru.
The place is awesome!! Great facility and staff!! I love the boxing classes!! Awesome workout plus learning the proper techniques. It's a great place to be.
Great place to train!! Highly recommend!
20/10 amazing experience for my kids. Excellent balance of friendly and disciplinarian. Always clean. Classes for the whole family to try.
Mackenzie is awesome! She was so helpful when we got my daughter started there. Brooke was very informative when it came to the financial part. The instructors are amazing and helpful with the kids. We have had a great experience so far and my daughter loves learning jiu jitsu and judo!
It very cool 🤑🤑🤑
Great gym for all ages! I train there, my kids train there- friendly, knowledgeable, and trustworthy coaches, great place to grow and learn.
I’ve been going to this gym since I was 15 years old and you could not convince me to train anywhere else in Memphis. This gym is more than a gym, it is a family and I feel very much apart of it. The instructors are absolutely top tier and are absolute masters of their craft and continue to broaden their education as instructors which ensures top quality training. I am apart of the MMA team here and I couldn’t ask for a better team. At the gym I couldn’t ask for a better staff. Brooke is amazing and Dave is a brother of mine that I have and continue to look up to. Dave built this gym from the ground up and has worked incredibly hard to ensure not only the best for his customers but also for his employees. This gym adapts to and overcomes any and every challenge that is presented to it. If you’re considering this gym, you’re making the right choice- wether you are a beginner or a black belt. There is something here for everyone.
Love the atmosphere! Best coaches and trainers.
M son is 8 and this is his first jiu jitsu class ever. He is in aww with the structure of the class and is learning very quickly. This place has a phenomenal staff from the front desk to the back.
Great place to train at
Best place to train. For both beginners and advanced fighters
Great instructors, great gym, family atmosphere.

Great friendly and welcoming faces when you enter into the business.
Great place, love the energy and the coaches
Three years ago I trained here and loved it. Unfortunately, life happens and I had to quit. Now here I am back again. There is no where else I would rather train. The staff is fantastic and the people I train with are amazing too!
My 5 year old LOVES the kids jiu-jitsu class! Literally begs to go to class everyday! The instructors are awesome and the gym is nice and clean!
This a great workout and environment to be in. If you're looking to sweat and get your day started GET IN THE BUILDING!!!
The most welcoming environment filled with beautiful people and knowledgeable teachers on any subject of MMA. Kids classes, beginners & advance classes, Jiujitsu, Fitness Kickboxing, and more! Memphis Judo and Jiu Jitsu has a place for everyone.
Everyone is very respectful and the people at the desk are extremely helpful and very accommodating. Wouldn’t choose another gym over Memphis Judo and Jiu Jitsu.
Love this place for a great workout! Dina’s a great instructor! 👏🏼
I have been coming here for over a year, wouldn’t recommend any other place, great coaches and great environment
Great! loving it for the past 4 months, learned a lot
Definitely enjoyed my experience, didn’t expect the intensity of the classes, as well as how helpful the instructors were overall, anything you would want to know within the variety of fighting classes they provide. Recommend to anyone at any age, to just try it!
It is awesome!!!
Felt welcomed and challenged (in a good way) as a beginner in the BJJ class. Looking forward to many more
I was able to come in and train here for the first time in several years while visiting family and this school does not disappoint. Instruction is second to none and everyone is very laid back and easy to train with. I'm already looking forward to visiting again the next time I'm in town.
Clean facility, friendly staff and such a great workout!!!
Boxing has been amazing for my son! Has taught him more physical toughness and has helped him gain some athleticism.
I walked into this gym today. Im from ga and wanted to find somewhere to train when I come to Memphis for work. As soon as I walked in I immediately noticed how great the atmosphere was. I was greeted as soon as I walked in as well. Everyone here from the instructors to students treated me like family. And that’s the kind of environment they have built at this gym. I think if you’re trying to start any kind of mma or bjj if it’s to compete, learn some self defense, or just exercise and you’re in the Memphis tn area this should be your first choice. This gym really is special. Also the classes and times they have are really flexible. I promise there is a time frame for anyone here.
The people are very friendly and helpful. So far I have only been to two classes. However, in both I have retained information, any questions I had were answered with as much information possible. I definitely see myself being a part of this school for a while.
Memphis Judo and Jiu Jitsu is a great school for anyone looking to get into BJJ. They have very affordable classes and a wide selection of time slots. Personally, I attend several different schools in TN and Memphis BJJ has really great coaches. Whether you're a beginner or competition based trainer, they have EVERYTHING you need to either get started or further your training. Absolutely great school highly recommend.
I have been a member of the Kickboxing Fitness class for 10 years. Every instructor is knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Compared to other kickboxing fitness classes I have tried, IMHO Memphis Fitness Kickboxing is the most challenging and rewarding there is anywhere in the country.
Very good place to train
Love this place! Part of my weekly workout routine! Great people and great exercise!
Love the team here! Easy sign up !! Love the classes!
Me and my brother join boxing and jiu-jitsu and it's been fun, everybody is nice and friendly, I love how understanding they are with beginners.i feel great every time I'm here.
I’m new to the Memphis Judo & Jiu Jitsu Gym and only got positives to share on them from my experience at the gym. I just recently signed my 9 year old boy up for Jiu Jitsu lesson. My reasons for deciding on this gym include the positive and inclusive culture that fosters mutual respect, clean and well-maintained facility, convenient schedule with consistent training, transparent communication about class schedules, fees and any charges within the gym. Instructors are approachable and do provide feedback to the students. They do check in with parents as well if you stay to watch the routine. The admin staff are great and work with you if you need to pause the lessons for the best interest of your family. I definitely recommend!!!
Memphis Judo and Jiu-Jitsu is an absolute gem within the Memphis martial arts community. The owner, a long-timer in the local martial arts scene, has cultivated a space that seamlessly blends expertise, friendliness, and a genuine sense of community. The staff at are a testament to the wealth of knowledge present in the establishment. From the moment you step through the door, you're met with instructors who not only possess impressive technical skills but also have a passion for sharing their expertise. Their friendly demeanor makes every session enjoyable, creating an atmosphere that fosters both learning and camaraderie. The facilities are well-maintained, and the variety of classes offered allows me to explore different aspects of martial arts and fitness. This is my go-to gym when I’m visiting family in the area.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I visited Memphis Judo Jujitsu while passing through town and it has been an incredible experience. The instructors are not only highly skilled but also incredibly passionate about teaching. The atmosphere is welcoming, making it easy for beginners to feel comfortable while challenging enough for more advanced practitioners. The variety of training methods keeps classes engaging, and the supportive community adds a sense of camaraderie. Whether you're a beginner or looking to enhance your skills, Memphis Judo Jujitsu provides a fantastic environment to learn and grow. I highly recommend it!
Memphis Judo and Jiu-jitsu provided an excellent Jiu-jitsu training experience during our visit. Brooke, our instructor, was knowledgeable and friendly, guiding us through all of the days techniques. The facility was well-maintained and offered a clean training environment. If you're in Memphis and looking for quality Jiu-jitsu instruction, I highly recommend this establishment. A solid five-star rating for their professionalism and expertise.
They teach self defense techniques very well and builds team building. This is great for children to not only exercise their body but to also exercise their minds. This training will follow them all the way through their life journey.
I really enjoyed coming to this gym the people and coaches were very nice , I plan to come and train every time i am in Memphis. I also got to me the first female black belt in Memphis which was pretty cool.
I’ve heard about Memphis Judo & Jiu Jitsu for years now from my daughter, recently I attended a Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing class. Being a new retiree I finally have time to try new things and these classes were a great experience. The staff (Brooke & Dina) made me fell welcome and provided skilled instruction. I now understand why so many people have become part of this family! Thank You
Ya’ll!!! If you are looking for a great organization that teaches and refines skills, facilitates team building experiences, and gives your teenager the motivation and life skills to be successful in the current world, this is the place. My 14 year old loves this place and it has been such a positive influence in his life.
As an older athlete (54), a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu brown belt (11 yrs training) and physical therapist, I am very particular where I train. I want to train hard, progress my 𝐁𝐉𝐉, challenge myself and yet also be able to work in the morning. I travel for work and train all over the USA, over 54 different gyms during my 𝐁𝐉𝐉 life. This place is the place I will always continue to go to when I am in Memphis. It is a 30 minute drive for me and I pass 3-4 places on the way. But the drive is well worth it. The instruction is top notch and the atmosphere of mutual respect and ability to set aside egos is spot on. Thank you all for welcoming me like a member and for giving me some amazing training. Dr T Ness
Such an amazing team! You’ll achieve your goals in no time - all of the instructors are passionate and committed to your success and ensures that no one feels left out! (Even if you want to curl up and hide after too many burpees😂) Thanks Memphis Judo Jiu Jitsu for making my short time here worthwhile!
This is a great place to go to learn jiu jitsu. Not only are there blackbelts teaching the classes, it’s also very family oriented and safe. There’s everyone from new mothers to serious competitors there, highly recommended.
Great place to train. The coaches are great and will definitely get you in shape. Im here for boxing and I love it. They also have MMA, Kickboxing, and Jiu Jitsu. If you are interested in any of those I definitely recommend joining.
I love the variety of classes offered. It creates an environment for everybody to find their spot! I have enjoyed learning BJJ and now trying the kickboxing class. Great staff too. Shout out to Makenzie, she is such a great encourager and always gives a warm greeting when you enter!
Memphis Judo & Jiu Jitsu has been an amazing experience for the 3 days that I have been to class. It’s an awesome workout that has plenty of awesome people that want to see new comers succeed. It’s awesome learning new things each day and finally pulling off what you have been practicing. For being such a small gym there are huge opportunities for growth in all areas. I just started class this week but I can assure you I’ll be coming consistently in the future.
My daughter just recently joined the teen BJJ class. Every person we have encountered has been so kind, welcoming, and encouraging. It definitely has the family feel. My daughter has already gained so much more confidence than she had before. Looking forward to watching her growth and the relationships being formed.
I love coming to this gym everyone is so nice and accommodating from the way they treat my kids to how thorough the instructors are. This is hands down the best gym in town. Would highly recommend.
I just started here and have been absolutely loving my experience so far. Every instructor is super knowledgeable and has taken time to make sure I really understand what's going on, which is so helpful because I am lost about 99% of the time. Lol! I'm so excited to continue learning and practicing a new skill here! Highly recommend! 😊
One of the best workouts in town! Total body workout, AND you're having fun while you're doing it! Grace is AWESOME! So knowledgeable and fun! Great for all fitness levels!
I joined in January 2023 and will be a member for life. I've wrestled for 20 years but submissions are new to me. The 11:00am class with Coaches Brooke, Donny & Jeff are all educational & physically challenging. We learn concepts; fundamentals & situational technique. The training facility is VERY clean & the environment is welcoming. Two thumbs up 👍🏿👍🏿
We have visited many places before choosing this school for our young kids. We thought this school gave our kids the best tools/knowledge needed for what mental/physical problems they may face in their future. We love the staff and the facility.
Went in for a free Beginner's Muay Thai class. Aside from myself, there were also a handful of other new students there for the trial as well. The instructors didn't greet us, barely made eye contact, didn't provide any direct instruction during the class, and didn't interact with us at all aside from walking us to the payment desk at the end. The instructor passed us off to the front desk person and walked way without saying anything. Before asking if we wanted to sign up, the person at the front desk said something like "Are you ready to become pro fighters now? You know we have a lot of pro & amateur MMA fighters here."--as though we would be impressed by "real MMA fighters" somewhere in the building that we'd just throw them our money. The class went like this: There was a big room (plenty of space) and a lot of students (maybe 50-60) of varying skill levels. It was very chaotic and disorganized and for the first 5-10 minutes it was unclear who was in charge or what we were supposed to be doing. Once things got underway, the main instructor would demonstrate something quickly--moreso just showing off their skill level at full speed as opposed to breaking down the techniques--and then students who had been training for a little while (not instructors, but just students who had been there for several months, a year, etc.) would pair up with new students and teach us. That would be perfectly fine, IF the instructors also came by and gave some technical instruction as well. But that didn't happen. The fellow student who was teaching me was very helpful, but if I'm going to sign up for a class I would want an instructor to make an appearance and interact with me at least once. Overall, not a good experience, but not the worst either. They do have a lot of classes and a lot of students, and you do technically have access to instructors who apparently know what they're doing. (I only say "apparently" because the school doesn't have bios and because the instructors never talked to us or taught us anything directly, so I have no clue.) So I think this would be a decent gym to go to if you want a high volume of loosely structured, fast-paced drills and sparring. You would pick things up if you went frequently and you'd become very comfortable sparring. But you also would probably pick up a lot of bad habits, since doing fast-paced drills with improper technique (because no one is correcting you and showing you how to do it slowly first, in a beginner's class) will just entrench that improper technique.
Not good I’m trying stopping my payment they don’t let me 🫥
If I could give zero stars I would. We took our 6 year old daughter for a trial class after a pleasant phone call with the front desk. When we arrived the parking lot was full so we parked in the back and noticed a back door where people were entering. My husband, daughter and I entered through the back behind another family. As the family was walking through the gym, they asked a gentlemen where to go - he directed them to continue towards the front and through the door to the front desk. We followed that family towards the front, they opened the door as instructed and we all walked through. Once inside the front of the gym a woman yelled “NO SHOES ON THE MAT, I SAID NO SHOES ON THE MAT”. My husband and I looked at each other perplexed, took off our shoes, walked 10 feet to get off the mat, put our shoes back on and waited at the front desk. A young girl came over and greeted us and we told her what happened. She looked nervous and asked another employee to speak with us. When we informed the second employee she casually brushed it off by saying “oh sorry that happened.” I asked why there weren’t signs and why we weren’t told over the phone she replied “Oh the signs fall off.” My 6 year old was nervous to begin with and to have an adult scream about shoes was totally unprofessional and unnecessary. We understand why there are no shoes on the mat and are happy to oblige, however, there is a way to address it in a professional manner other than screaming at your NEW customers. If you’re willing to scream at a new customer - who has children in tow, how do you treat your existing customers and children? Needless to say, our first impression was absolutely terrible and we chose to remove our daughter from that environment to find a family friendly gym where we feel welcomed.
Went in this past Monday to do a “fundamentals of Muay Thai” class with 2 friends and not only did the instructor not know we were there, it wasn’t actually a fundamentals class. It was a regular ongoing class that was advanced. We had to tell the instructor we were there and he pulled someone from that class to “teach” us. Were told to grab pads from a cabinet and they didn’t have enough for us. What they did have was all busted. Then the “instructor” we were handed off to was having us learn kicks and blocking without any pads leading to some injury and a lot of bruising. Very unprofessional and unorganized all around.
