Sheffield is one of the busier BJJ competition cities in the north of England. Most events take place in Sheffield itself, with a few held in nearby Worksop and Chesterfield.
All Stars BJJ is the most active organiser, running both All Stars BJJ Sheffield and All Stars BJJ Steel City. The Northern Gi + NoGi Open returns several times a year with IBJJF and submission-only rulesets, and the city has also hosted the ADCC English Open Championships and the PSUK & TeamPolice BJJ Championships.
Gi and No-Gi divisions are offered in equal measure, around a quarter of events include an absolute division and roughly one in eight runs kids divisions. August is the busiest month, followed by October, June and March.
