Philadelphia hosts the most BJJ tournaments in Pennsylvania, with Pittsburgh second. Schwenksville, Allentown, Millersville, Harrisburg, Bethlehem, York and Manheim fill out a busy calendar in the east and center of the state.
Grappling Industries Philadelphia and Grappling Industries Pittsburgh are the most frequent events. NAGA runs a Philadelphia Grappling Championship, Tap Cancer Out holds BJJ Opens in both Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, and FUJI BJJ runs the Pennsylvania State Championship and the Allentown Winter Championship. The Path submission grappling series and White Belt Wars are also recurring.
Gi and No-Gi are offered about equally, and around a third of events run kids divisions. House rules dominate, with some submission-only events. Adult entry typically costs around $30–$112. September is the busiest month, followed by November, October and May.
