Alabama's BJJ calendar is spread across the state rather than centered on one city. Auburn, Huntsville and Gardendale host the most events, with Foley and Orange Beach covering the Gulf Coast and Birmingham hosting several championships.
NEWBREED runs the Alabama State Championship and a Montgomery Fall Championship, while FUJI BJJ holds an Orange Beach Fall Championship and an Auburn Winter Championship. Other recurring events include the AGF Birmingham Championships, Genesis 32 tournaments in Auburn and The Good Fight's Legacy Open.
Most events offer both Gi and No-Gi divisions, and a little over one in three runs kids divisions. Adult entry fees vary from around $20 for smaller events to about $150 for larger championships. August and November are the busiest months, followed by October and July.
