Alabama Twisters PGF Qualifier Season 10

THE ROAD TO SEASON 10 STARTS IN ALABAMA

The Professional Grappling Federation was born in Alabama. On December 5 the Alabama Twisters bring an official Season 10 qualifier back to where it started — 10th Planet Decatur: one day, five divisions, and a direct path to the PGF Draft.

Win your division and you’re in the Season 10 Draft pool. Every match is scouted, too — athletes who show finishing ability and composure under the lights can earn preselect, alternate, or future invitations without the win.

What the win gets you is a Draft-pool spot, not a Twisters contract. Rosters are set by the eight PGF franchises at the Season 10 Draft on January 17, 2027, and the season opens in March 2027. Registration and payment happen on this Smoothcomp page only.

WHO CAN COMPETE

• Men, 16 or older on event day
• Open rank — every belt, every background
• Divisions: 145 · 155 · 170 · 185 · 205 lbs
• Enter the division you will make weight for; there is a 1 lb allowance
• Athletes who have already won a Season 10 qualifier are not eligible
• The Twisters may approve, decline, or remove a registration for safety or integrity

WHERE AND WHEN

10th Planet Decatur — 108 Lenwood Rd SE, Decatur, AL 35603

• 11:00 AM CT — rules meeting (mandatory)
• 12:00 PM CT — first match

Weigh-ins. Three ways to make weight — pick one:

• Day before: Friday, December 4 at 10th Planet Decatur, 6:00–8:00 PM CT
• Mobile weigh-in: weigh in from your own gym — details go out to registered athletes
• Day of: Saturday, December 5 at the venue, 11:00 AM CT — one hour before the first match

Our scale is the scale. Miss weight before your first match and you forfeit your division. Match times move during the day, so keep the Smoothcomp app open.

FORMAT AND RULES

• No-gi, single elimination
• 6-minute matches, submission only — no points, no advantages
• No draws: if there is no finish, the Event Lead names the winner — the athlete who pushed the action and showed the most as a PGF roster prospect
• 20-second shot clock
• Heel hooks and all leg locks legal
• Fitted rash guard and shorts; no pockets, zippers, or drawstrings
• Officials’ calls on penalties, disqualifications, and disputes are final

REGISTRATION

• $100 per athlete, one division per athlete
• Registration closes Friday, December 4 at 12:00 PM CT — 24 hours before the first match
• Your spot is confirmed when your Smoothcomp entry is paid
• Divisions may cap at 16 athletes — register early

Refunds: full refund through Wednesday, November 25 at 12:00 PM CT, handled in Smoothcomp. After that there are no refunds for no-shows, missed weight, disqualification, or inability to attend. If we cancel the event, every entry is refunded in full.

SPECTATORS AND COACHES

• Adults (18+): $10
• Ages 6–17: $10
• 5 and under: free
• One coach pass per registered athlete; additional coaches, teammates, and corners enter as spectators

CONDUCT, SAFETY, AND MEDIA

• Carry yourself like a professional. Disrespect toward opponents, coaches, officials, or staff, threats, or altercations off the mat mean disqualification with no refund.
• You compete at your own risk and confirm you are fit for this ruleset. Staff and officials can stop a match or pull an athlete at any time.
• By registering you allow the Alabama Twisters, the PGF, and their partners to use photos, video, interviews, and match footage for broadcast, social, and promotion.
• Earn an invitation to camp or a roster and we expect professional standards: on time, coachable, camera-ready.
