Final Kumite is an 8 persons bracket style event in Brighton.
Competition Brackets
- White Belt – Male: 8-person bracket, up to 100 kg
- Blue Belt – Female: 8-person bracket, up to 75 kg
- Blue Belt female , 4 person bracket 75 kg and above
- Blue Belt – Male: 8-person bracket, up to 100 kg
Format
This is a hybrid Gi / No-Gi tournament. Competitors must be prepared for both formats, as Gi or No-Gi will be randomly decided immediately before the start of each match.
Ruleset
The event will follow standard IBJJF rules, with the following exceptions and clarifications:
- Wrist lock submissions are allowed at white belt
- A significant submission attempt scores 2 points
- Advantages are awarded 1 point
- Penalties award 1 point to the opponent
- Blue belt and above follow adult black belt rules: In No-Gi, all leg locks are allowed
- In the Gi, heel hooks and other illegal techniques remain prohibited
- Guard jumping and all flying attacks against a standing opponent are NOT allowed at any level
Withdrawals & Refunds
If you withdraw from the event, refunds will generally not be offered, except in exceptional circumstances. However, you will receive a free entry to a future event.
