Rules 

1lb. weight allowance for all divisions

Match Length

Kids 3 Minutes

Teens 4 Minutes

Adults 5 Minutes

Action Points Definition / Requirement
Takedown 2 An action that brings your opponent from their feet to the ground while you remain on top or in a dominant position.
Pass 2 Getting past an opponent’s legs and establishing a dominant top position such as side control, mount, or north–south. The pass must be held for a count of 3 before points are awarded.
Top Mount 2 Establishing top position with your hips over the opponent’s hips or chest and your knees pinning the sides of their body. The position must be held for a count of 3 before points are awarded.
Back Control 2 Attaching to your opponent’s back with chest-to-spine connection while controlling the upper body with a seatbelt grip and the lower body with hooks or a body triangle. The position must be held for a count of 3 before points are awarded.
Sweep 2 A guard-based reversal where the bottom player uses leverage, timing, hooks, grips, and hip movement to break the opponent’s base, reverse the position, and end on top.

If the match is tied at the end of regulation a 1 minute sudden period victory will commence, the first person to score wins the match. If the match remains tied after the sudden victory periods, overtime periods will continue until a winner is determined.

Prohibited Techniques

Spinal locks—including full nelsons, twisting neck cranks, and any technique applying rotational force to the cervical spine—are prohibited in all divisions and experience levels without exception. Flying scissor takedowns, slams, spikes, jumping guard, small-joint manipulation, and any technique that deliberately targets the knee joint with rotational force beyond permitted parameters are also prohibited in all divisions and experience levels without exception.
