Registration Fees:

Kids, Teens, Adults, Masters, NoGi & Gi registrations:

Early Bird Registration: $65 until Oct 15 @ 5 pm local time
Second Division: 50% off

Regular Registration: $75 until Nov 26 @ 5 pm local time
Second Division: 50% off

Late Registration: $85 until Dec 3 @ 5 pm local time
Second Division: 50% off

Absolute Division registrations: $100, and you get your first division for FREE.

Black Belts compete in regular divisions for FREE!

For Black Belt registration:

We will verify your rank and mark your registration as paid.

Absolute Division entry fees still apply to Black Belts.

Spectator Admission:

Spectator Tickets: $15 (may be purchased at the door)

Children under 5 years old enter free.

All matches are livestreamed free of charge on The Grappling Network YouTube channel. While we do our best to provide uninterrupted coverage of every event, technical issues can occasionally occur. As livestreaming is a complimentary service, we cannot guarantee availability and may not have a backup stream if problems arise.

We appreciate your understanding and support. Due to the nature of live event production, we ask that spectators refrain from contacting us regarding livestream issues, as our staff is focused on delivering a safe and successful event for all competitors.

Weigh-In Rules:

Kids Divisions

  • 2-pound weight allowance
  • Competitors exceeding the allowance may be moved to an appropriate division
  • Please register your child at a weight they can safely make

Teen & Adult Divisions

  • No weight allowance
  • Competitors who fail to make weight will be charged a $20 re-bracketing fee and may be moved to the next available weight class
  • Re-bracketing is not guaranteed and depends on bracket availability
  • No refunds will be issued for missed weight

All Competitors

  • Competitors may weigh in anytime after doors open
  • All competitors must complete their weigh-in no later than one (1) hour before their scheduled division start time
  • Competitors who fail to weigh in at least one hour before their division begins may be disqualified from the tournament
  • No refunds will be issued for missed weigh-ins, late arrivals, or disqualifications
  • Competitors only have to weigh in one time and do NOT have to weigh in with a Gi on

Bracket Adjustments:

If there are no other competitors in your division, we will automatically move you to the closest division.

We may combine or move divisions based on age, weight, sex, and rank level to create appropriate matchups.

Every reasonable effort will be made to ensure all competitors receive matches.

Important Schedule Information:

The schedule above is an estimate only.

Official match times and mat assignments will be posted on Smoothcomp once registration closes and brackets are finalized.

Match times may change throughout the day depending on division sizes and event pace. Competitors are responsible for monitoring their schedule through Smoothcomp.

We strongly recommend arriving at least 90 mins before your scheduled division start time.

If your name is called and you fail to report to the bullpen or competition area promptly, you may be disqualified.

No refunds will be issued for missed matches, late arrivals, or disqualifications.

Ruleset:

Immediately before every match, a tournament official will conduct a coin flip. The result of the coin flip will determine which ruleset will be used for that match.

  • POINTS: Modified UWW
  • SUB ONLY: Submission Only with PGF Overtime Rules

Both competitors will compete under the same randomly selected ruleset for that match.

Competitors are responsible for understanding both rulesets prior to the event. Detailed information will be listed on our Rules Page, and a rules meeting will be held at 9 AM before the competition begins.

MATCH LENGTHS:

  • Kid Boys/Girls - 4-minute matches
  • Teen Boys/Girls - 5-minute matches
  • Adult/Masters Men/Women - 6-minute matches
  • Adult Absolute - 6-minute matches

*Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

The Lake Arrowhead Jiu Jitsu Open is sanctioned by USA Grappling, the largest grappling organization in the United States. As a result, all competitors are required to have a current USA Grappling membership to participate. Your membership is more than just an event requirement—members receive secondary sports accident insurance coverage and the opportunity to compete nationwide and represent Team USA on the world stage.
