Riverside hosts a small but varied BJJ calendar in the Inland Empire. Exotic Jiu Jitsu is the most frequent event, and the Nationals Jiu Jitsu Open, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Open and IE Sub Only have also been held in the city. Some events run in nearby Beaumont.
September is the busiest month by a clear margin, followed by March and August. Gi divisions are more common than No-Gi, and kids divisions appear at some events, with the Kingdom Quest Youth Grappling Series catering to younger competitors.
