Fighters in the Cup of Europe must be over 18 years of age and be minimum of 2 years experience.

International Men’s category

Category 1 - Lightweight Category (- 70 Kg)

Category 2 - Middle-weight Category (+ 70-80 Kg.)

Category 3 - Heavy-weight Category (+ 80 Kg.)

Bout duration

Preliminary rounds 2 minutes, saishai 2 minutes weight difference, tameshiwari, enchosen 2 minutes

Final 3 minutes, saishai 2 minutes, enchosen 2 minutes

Mens weight difference is 5kg or more for LW/MW and 8kg or more for HW

International Women’s category

Category 1 (- 60 Kg.)

Category 2 (+60 Kg.)

Bout duration

Preliminary rounds 2 minutes, sai-shai 2 minutes weight difference, encho-sen 2 minutes

Final 3 minutes, sai-shai 2 minutes, encho-sen 2 minutes

Womens weight difference is 5kg or more for womens bouts

Fighter protection:

Men -. Groin guards compulsory. Approved Shin and in step protectors optional Gum shields are optional at the fighters discretion.

Women - Approved Shin and in step protectors and approved breast protectors, (cup type) compulsory.

Insurance – Fighters must obtain their own insurance.

International U18 Cup of Europe Categories

U18 (16-17 years) Shin and instep pads compulsory. Men groin guard and Women chest protector (cup type) compulsory. Headguard and Gumshield is optional.

U18 Weight Categories

Girl -58kg/+58kg

Boy -68kg/-78/kg/+78kg

UK Championship for Youth U12/U14/U16/U18 - Novice and Veterans

All Categories will be run on the Olympic Knockout Draw System unless only three participants in the category where it can be run as a round robin event

Novice and Veterans (UK and Ireland Organisations Only)

Novice (18 years and over): Shin and instep pads compulsory. Men groin guard and Women chest protector (cup type) compulsory. Gumshield is optional. Gumshield is compulsory with braces.

Novice Weight Categories (UK and Ireland Organisations Only)

Women -60kg/+60kg

Men -70kg/-80/kg/+80kg

Veterans (45 years and over) – Headguard, Shin and instep pads and gloves compulsory. Men groin guard and Women chest protector (cup type) compulsory. Gumshield is optional. Gumshield is compulsory with braces.

Veterans Weight Categories

Men -75kg/-85g/+85g

Women -65kg/+65kg

Junior U16 (All UK Organisations and IFK Countries)

U16 (14-15 years) – headguard, shin and instep pads, gloves compulsory. Boys groin guard and Girls chest protector compulsory. Gumshield is optional. Gumshield is compulsory for children with braces.

Some selected IFK countries may participate in the U16 (14-15) categories with approval of the BKK Executive Committee.

U16 Boys -50kg/-55kg/-60kg/-65kg/-70kg/+70kg

Junior U14 (All UK Organisations and IFK Countries)

U14 (12-13 years) – headguard, shin and instep pads, gloves and standard body protector compulsory. Groin Guard and gumshield optional. Gumshield is compulsory for children with braces.

U10 Girls -30kg/-35kg/+35kg

U10 Boys -30kg/-35kg/+35kg

U12 (10-11 years) – headguard, shin and instep pads, gloves and standard body protector compulsory. Groin Guard and gumshield optional.

U12 Girls -35kg/-40kg/+40kg

U12 Boys -35kg/-40kg/-45kg/+45kg

All U12/ U10/Novice Adult and Veteran categories are UK and Ireland Only

All categories in the UK event must follow IFK Rules and must wear the approved safety equipment.
