Crazy Monkey Alaska is a fantastic gym. The environment is clean, and the people are friendly. Jason is an excellent coach, he's easy-going and knowledgeable about what he does. I have enjoyed my workouts at the gym, and I encourage anyone interested to give it a try. It's fun and judgment-free.

Joining Crazy Monkey Alaska has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in the last five years. I am overweight, and have little to no energy, zero confidence, and constant body pain. Clicking on their ad on Facebook truly changed everything. From day one, Jason and Katie welcomed me with kindness, encouragement, and absolutely no judgment. Their energy and genuine care are unmatched—they’ve never made me feel bad about where I was starting from. Instead, they’ve inspired me to push forward. At first, my goal was just to get healthier and lose weight, but after a month I’ve started falling in love with the sport of boxing itself. I feel stronger, more confident, and more excited about the future than I have in years. I can honestly say Jason and Katie are two of the most uplifting and motivating people I’ve ever met. If you’re looking for a safe, supportive, and inspiring place to train—whether for yourself or your child—Crazy Monkey Alaska is the place to be. My son will be joining soon too, and I couldn’t be happier.

Crazy Monkey is not just a gym it is a place filled with people that truly care about making you the best you can be. Jason and Katie put their whole hearts into teaching and training. They want you to have all the tool to make you stronger, better and safer. They listen to you and want to understand what you are needing from the classes. I am beyond thankful for Crazy Monkey becoming part of my life. Every time I leave the gym I feel stronger and more confident. Thank you for making working out something that I look forward to.

I did a lot of shopping around looking for a gym to learn some self defense and I am so very grateful to have found crazy monkey. I had no experience and found the whole idea intimidating but Jason has made it accessible and fun. The explanations and demonstrations are expertly done and the wealth of knowledge that he possesses help mold you into whatever you want to become. The environment is very friendly and welcoming to everyone and all skill levels. I cannot recommend enough. Do yourself a favor and sign up.

Working with Jason has completely changed my relationship with fitness. As someone with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), I came to him after years of frustration and discouragement. My existing shoulder and hip labrum injuries had been exacerbated by other trainers who didn’t understand how to work with my condition, leaving me feeling like exercise just wasn’t safe for me. Then I found Jason. From the start, he made it clear that my safety and long-term health were his top priorities. He took the time to understand my medical history, listen to my concerns, and design a program that supports my body rather than stressing it. His focus on form, joint stability, and gradual progress has made a world of difference—not only have I been able to train without setbacks, but I’ve gained real strength and mobility. More than that, Jason has helped me regain trust in my body. I now approach fitness with confidence instead of fear. I never thought I’d enjoy working out again, but with his guidance, I look forward to it. If you're looking for a trainer who truly listens, understands complex physical conditions, and builds a program around you, Jason is the one. I can’t recommend him enough.

The Crazy Monkey Alaska team went above and beyond to deliver a self defense course to students on the UAA campus during a 4 week period. This class was the highlight for many of our students, feeling confident to defend themselves and get themselves out of bad situations. Jason and Katie were flexible to the needs of our students, ensuring they felt confident to step out of their comfort zones for their own benefit. Our students enjoyed their playful energy while taking in the seriousness of the skills they developed. Logistically - Jason was a true professional. Him and his team were always on time and brought in extra equipment to enhance our students' experience. Our team was satisfied with the skills and learning objectives presented. They even went out of their way to attend our students' talent show at the end of our program at the request of our students; this showcases the connection they build with those they serve. Highly recommend!
