Anchorage Grappling Academy is a martial arts academy in Alaska with classes for both kids and adults, including grappling and additional training beyond grappling. The academy runs classes on a set weekly schedule and has instructors for adults and children, each with competition experience and a focus on teaching.
Brady has a black belt in the art of grappling and teaches with a blend of technique and laughter.
Brandon began training Brazilian Jiu-jitsu at age 8. Brandon was awarded his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu in 2013 and also holds a black belt in the art of Kung Fu San Soo. He is a three-time Alaska state submission grappling champion and has over 20 years of experience teaching.
James Marchetti is a brown belt and teaches the lunch class at 11:30 am. He pastors a local church and owned a construction business for almost 20 years.
James is described as a jiu-jitsu instructor by day and bartender by night.
Lilan started Tae Kwon Do at age 8 and started instructing at age 16. She has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and practicing Acro Yoga since 2013.
Matthew is a purple belt who helps out with the kids jiu-jitsu classes. He started jiu-jitsu in 1999 and recently rediscovered the joy of playing jiu-jitsu with his own children.
Born in Dec 1985, in Anchorage, AK, Stephen began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey when he was 22 years old. He trained and competed in tournaments all over the world and eventually earned his black belt.
Visited here as a drop-in, they were super friendly with absolutely awesome instruction. They have some really great grapplers and it was a good workout. I learned a lot of really great details that helped me improve. Notably they also do a lot of great things for the community. If you get the chance to visit it will absolutely be worth your time.

This gym is great. They moved to a new location more centrally located and easier to get to. The people here are amazing.

Last weekend was my first time going in their Academy. Very clean facility and super friendly! I went for their Women’s submission only charity tournament, it was sooooo much fun! I really hope they do it again next year!

Awesome gym, great guys, dropped in on vacation and was welcomed with open arms.
Great instructors, and best rates in town. It's a co-op (which is rad) with a great team. They aren't into over the top warm ups with little variation, more focus on mat time.
