I love that there’s an agenda and a plan week in and week out, I’ve been to plenty of gyms that warm up then say to ok what would you like to work on? For beginners that’s tough to answer so I like that there’s structure here

I've played a bunch of different sports my whole life and l've had the pleasure to have a bunch of good coaches and teammates. Professor Lucas is easily not only the best but consistent, caring, passionate, coach I've ever had in my life. The community is amazing I've never had a better experience regarding that aspect. All around just an amazing experience, great people and outstanding teaching from Professor Lucas and all the other coaches.

This is a phenomenal gym to be at! I have been training martial arts for nearly two decades and have around 4 years of grappling under my belt. I visited to train with some of my buddies that got me into jiu jitsu. The entire gym was very welcoming and Professor Lucas has a ton of knowledge. If you are just starting or a seasoned vet this is an amazing place to train.

I’ve been training/competing for many years and this is a very well structured/professional gym. The hospitality was great as well and very welcoming. Would recommend this Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym to any beginner or seasoned athlete. Great place for wrestlers too.

Gracie Barra is an incredible BJJ gym and facility, led by two outstanding figure Professor Lucas and Coach Jess. I joined on a whim one summer weekend this year, and I haven’t looked back since. The gym here is a great environment with everyone pushing one another to improve and succeed. It’s a place where people what to see you succeed.

Just had an amazing experience and training session with Professor Lucas Nabuco and his team at Gracie Barra Greensboro in NC. Traveled from Orlando to spend time with friends this Thanksgiving. They made me feel right at home starting with their program director Jess. Looking forward to returning again in the future. My experience at Gracie Barra Greensboro has been incredibly positive. I have always had an interest in learning self-defense and was encouraged to explore Gracie Barra. This sport has been a source of both mental and physical challenges for me, and I deeply appreciate the supportive atmosphere that I have encountered since joining. Professor Lucas and Jessica have consistently displayed kindness and support, offering a diverse range of classes, including women's only sessions. My interactions with fellow participants have also been extremely positive; I have found everyone to be helpful and supportive. Our common goal is to enjoy, learn, and train in the sport, and I can confidently say that Gracie Barra Greensboro has become one of my most secure and cherished environments. This has been a great experience for me and my 10 year old son . After every class we can’t wait to go back to the next one. Professor Lucas is excellent at breaking down the technique and coaching you to your specific skill level and Coach Jess makes everyone feel welcome. The entire atmosphere is encouraging and everyone wants you to be the best you can be. The jiu jitsu journey is just what I needed to get back in a beginners mindset after two decades running businesses. Take the plunge and join Gracie Barra!

I cannot recommend this gym enough. From day one I felt at home at this gym. the coaching is great and more importantly the culture they’ve created at Gracie Barra Greensboro is great for hobbyist and the competition minded. I have been taking adult classes and even enrolled my 5 year old in the Children’s class. If you are thinking about trying jiu jitsu come through and check this place out.

Great school, great atmosphere. Picking back up my BJJ journey here has been a great decision. Professor Lucas and Coaches Ivan and Jess are very knowledgeable and patient with all their students regardless of skill level and they make every one feel welcome and part of the growing family. My daughter and I asked if we could drop in for training while away from our home gym. It was fantastic training with Professor Lucas and his wonderful class. The facility is absolutely beautiful, nestled in a convenient area of Greensboro, and the experience was everything you would expect from a Gracie Barra gym. The instruction was top notch, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the mat space both clean and impressive. This space is fantastic, very well managed, spacious and clean. The Jiu Jitsu here is of high quality, with classes for all levels, ages and genders. Professor Lucas is an amazing person. He is the school's lead teacher. He knows like no one else how to deal with little ones and teach them values through sport. Classes are fluid, progressive, highly technical. Learning is right. I know what I'm talking about because I've trained in Brazil, Sweden and now here. The school members are very friendly and you feel the welcoming and family atmosphere. Everyone is valued. With the support of the famous Gracie Barra group, you have everything you need to train, improve, sharpen your mind and increase your confidence and self-esteem. The same for your family. As an athlete I have played many different sports and have had many different coaches. With that being said, Professor Lucas is easily one of, if not, my favorite coach ever. You can feel the love and passion he has for Jui jitsu every time you walk into the gym. Not only is he extremely passionate about growing and spreading Jui jitsu, he also does an amazing job of tailoring your training to your goals, whether that is to be a world champion, or you just want to get in shape. Not only is the coaching and training you will receive great, but the community at this school is amazing too, everyone is always looking out for each other and helping each other reach our own goals.

I trained with Professor Lucas in Colorado several times a week for a year. I learned more about grappling in that year than I have in all my other training. He is wonderful with kids, a great friend, and an even better professor. I highly recommend him to BJJ students of all ages. Looking forward to training with him some more, I’m going to commute from Raleigh a couple times a month!

Our family just joined here, and we love it. Lucas and Jessica are great instructors. They are welcoming, patient, great at teaching, and fantastic with kids. They have women-only training sessions too. We are all new to BJJ, but we feel really comfortable starting our journey here. It feels like they just want to help anyone who wants to learn. Professor Lucas and Coach Jess are the absolute best. Their approach with younger students is outstanding and it helps build the student's confidence. My daughter loves her class and her coaches. She loiks forward to her next class as soon as her previous class finishes. She has learned so much in a very short time. I am even considering taking adult classes. I highly recommend this school for anyone interested in jiu-jitsu, or for anyone looking for a fun and healthy activity for their children.

This is the real deal! Gracie Barra has direct lineage to the godfathers of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. With great instruction from Professor Lucas and Jessica, you can finally learn the proven greatest martial art in the world. My wife, my six year old daughter, and myself all started class the first week the new facility opened. It’s life changing for the whole family. My daughter loves it, and it gives me a peace of mind knowing she will be able to defend herself and obtain the ability to stay calm in any situation. Professor Lucas and Coach Jess are wonderful people. They’re knowledgeable in both skills as well as relaying the information in a simplified manner. This school is growing and everyone is welcoming. I trained with Professor Lucas and he is one of the kindest and most professional people I know. Lucas is a patient teacher and truly loves his job and passion. He is also very highly qualified, holds a back belt and many competition medals. Kids love Lucas! I trust and like Lucas so much that my 3-year-old daughter Lucy now trains with him in Fort Collins-CO. I am sure this school will be the best in town. It’s bittersweet loosing Lucas in our school but I’m extremely excited he’s gonna fulfill his dream in the next stage of his life. Congratulations to Lucas and his future school’s team!

This place is a joke charging people out of town $45 dollars for a drop in fee. Plus!! To enter you have to wear all of their clothing or you’re not “allowed” so the total is actually more like $140 so this place is an absolute clown show and you’re absolutely ridiculous cuz high level Bjj practitioners come into your town that just want to train for a night and can be an asset to you instead you charge them fees for their clothing and the fact they even showed up.. good business model
