The instructors at Tiger Academy are professional, experienced, and trustworthy. Our daughter is learning life lessons that have helped her with discipline, confidence, self control. We couldn’t be happier!
"Heart of Warrior and Patience of a Saint" is how I describe Master Garrison and the other instructors at Barrington Tiger Academy. It's a friendly, family owned and operated martial arts school that I'm proud to be a part of.
My son had been having problems with being physically bulliedin school (He was in the 4th grade at the time), and told me that he felt weak; an easy target. After searching around for a solution we decided to have a look at Tiger Academy. Master Garrison is a fantastic, patient, but firm instructor, and his teachings have had a profound effect on my son. The physical bullying is not an issue anymore, his confidence, and coordination have advanced quickly, and he has embraced setting an example for younger/lower rank students. It's been a joy for me personally watching him grow in such a positive way. Anyone going through something similar, to us and are looking for answer I highly recommend Master Garrison, and Tiger Academy.
The Barrington Tiger Academy is amazing! Super modern and clean facility, great for both kids and adults. Master Garrison is a wonderful instructor. Found them through a local deal for a free class, and I'm hooked!
Master Garrison was so kind and helpful in providing opportunities for our students during a recent fundraising event. His dedication to his craft and knowledge in the area of martial arts is insipiring!
Master Dave is amazing. My son didn’t like most sports we made him try, wasn’t always thrilled to be around other kids and wanted to do it with us. Dave spent time both privately and in group and now my kid love it and does it with the other kid all the time. Amazing teaching and so much patience with kids !
For over a year now, our daughter has grwon and matured under the guidance of Master Garrison and his fellow black belt teachers. They have taught self confidence, motivation, respect, dignity, and perseverance to our daughter. She loves attending and bettering her skills as she rises in the belt ranks.
Cannot say enough nice things about this program. Master Garrison is amazing! My daughter has been in for about a year, she gained confidence, flexibility, balance and I really believed it helped her not need physical therapy any longer. She loves going which is wonderful for a mom to see. I love that she loves an activity so much and learns while doing it, but doesn’t realize that she is learning because she is having fun.
So beneficial on so many levels.

Barrington Tiger Academy is top-rate training in Martial Arts. They are the real thing! Highest level Master training and personal care is their specialty, even in the classes. Great for all ages and every experience level.
After assisting me in 2005 with my weapons training to reach 1st Dan Black Belt with our original teacher Grand Master Kim, my training to 2nd Dan Black Belt continued directly under Master Garrison at Tiger Academy.
After severe low back problems, Master Garrison guided me physically, mentally, spiritually, and nutritionally back to health to keep moving forward under the most extreme circumstances to my 2nd Dan Black Belt test 15 years later in July 2020. YEA!

Master Garrison has been my daughter’s instructor for four years. His professionalism and knowledge have been paramount in helping our daughter grow and develop into an excellent martial artist. He works well with little kids, adults, and everyone in-between, which quite frankly is rare.
Master Garrison is a class act. He knows what each individual needs and caters to their level. Very responsive. Any level of kid or adult will be well accommodated.
Tiger Academy is an amazing school for kids and adults to start Martial Arts. It starts with basic hand and feet techniques much like many Japanese or Korean martial arts. As you gain ranks, you can start Hapkido (joint-locks and throws), Judo/Jiu Jitsu (grappling, holds, chokes and subduing) and traditional weapons (bo staff, sai, tonfa, arnis sticks, nunchaku, etc). I've looked at MANY schools in the area and Tiger Academy offers much more than other schools. It is a very well-rounded martial arts program with phenomenal instructors.
Master Garrison is very professional but also kind to the children and strikes a great balance between discipline and warmth. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a great martial arts instructor.
My son has been attending Tiger Academy for a year. Master David Garrison makes class fun while instilling skill and discipline into his students. He’s laid back yet commands the class. My son looks forward to class every week.
Master Garrison is an outstanding teacher and motivator. He trains students with useful skills and tactics for real life situations, while at the same time providing a great workout that includes solid instruction and traditional discipline. Highly recommended for adults and kids.
Tiger Academy is a great school. Master Gassion is a phenomenal instructor with years of martial arts experience in many disciplines. Staff/Instructors are helpful, knowledgeable, patient, encouraging and just great people to train with and to learn from. I am a student (not in my younger years) and have learned so much, not only the art, but about my self and what I am capable of accomplishing.
This is a great martial arts school. Master Garrison is very knowledgeable and skilled. He makes learning martial arts fun and challenging at the same time. He will make you a better person both mentally and physically.
