My son, Dominick, has been going here for almost a year now. He has grown so much through Budo Ballistic Club, not only in his self defense and fighting abilities, but as a man and overall person. He has pushed himself to new limits and even competed in his first exhibition. Illia and Anatoliy are great coaches always pushing their students to be the best versions of themselves, both inside and outside the gym. Dominick - Illia has been especially a huge person in my journey, too. My connection with him grew especially with him being by my side during my first Thai boxing exhibition (NMTA). The team, but especially Illia, stuck by my side for an elongated period of time, making sure I was warmed up, and prepared mentally and physically. Illia offered constant encouragement and tactical advice, but his commitment to my growth as a fighter has been exceptional. His coaching goes beyond just teaching techniques; he’s helped me build mental strength and discipline. Illia is always pushing me to exceed my limits, in practice and most recently at my exhibition match. Illia and the Budo Ballistic Team have helped me develop as a fighter but also as a person.
I’m almost 40 years old, I used to be very fit but had to have hip surgery and a mastectomy and reconstruction and ended up out of shape but wanted to learn to fight. I was embarrassed I would feel ridiculous trying to get fit again and learn to fight here. The club owner was understanding and welcoming when I shared my needs. The gym is very clean. There are other women that come in too though mostly a lot of young men in the Kickboxing class. Everyone is respectful and nobody has been mean or unwelcoming even though I am older and a beginner. I’m also glad I can modify things I can’t do because of the surgeries I had. The kickboxing classes are some of the best workouts I ever had!
Sensei llya is an incredible martial arts instructor! His deep knowledge, patience, and dedication to his students make every lesson engaging and effective. He creates a positive and motivating atmosphere, helping students improve their skills and confidence. My 2 boys started attending Ballistic Budo Club several months ago and I couldn't be happier with the progress that I'm seeing each time during their training sessions. We've tried other martial arts schools in the past, but none even come close to the level of professionalism and excellence that Ballistic Budo Club provides. Sensei Anatoliy has a unique approach to every student, he is tough but fair, patient, passionate and always brings out the best in his students. My boys are now excited to attend training sessions and are not afraid of putting in hard work that this Club requires. Our club is the Power itself. It’s something you can hand over to your kid for their thriving future. My daughter has recently started attending classes and we are amazed because of an art of martial art’s discipline, courage, respect to masters, parents and other students attending club. This Karate Dojo is such a rare gem! There are only about 5 Kudo Karate clubs in the USA, and Buffalo Grove is absolutely lucky to have one of them. What is Kudo Karate? It is an unbelievably effective blend of the original Karate, Judo and certain elements of Jiu-Jitsu. Tolek is a fantastic sensei - he possess a hard to find combination of genuine interest in children's development, instilling hard work, strict discipline, and respect for Karate tradition. My two daughters practiced Kyokushin karate at his Dojo at the old location, and now my son is now taking Kudo Karate in the new, much nicer facility. All three loved the experience and benefited tremendously in physical form, self-confidence and self-defense skills. A word of warning. This is not a McDojo. If you are after a fast belt transition, easy warm up and lot of Katas - look elsewhere. This Dojo requests hard work, respect for martial art tradition and dedication. It will challenge the practitioners and it will not provide fast gratification of high belt transition.However, Ballistic Budo Club will reward the hard work with real-world fighting skills, self-confidence and competitive comportment that will stay with you or your child for life.
Balistic Budo Club is by far the BEST martial arts school in northwest suburbs! This is not a typical martial arts school that’s available on every corner - it is truly different! What sets it apart is personalised approach and professionalism of coaches. We tried many martial arts studios and none come close to the results we witnessed in kids in a short period of time. Ballistic Budo Club represents a marriage of physical training, endurance, balance and discipline, respect, hard work. I stumbled upon a hidden gem with Ballistic Budo Club! I've been training here for about a year and a half now, and I'm seriously impressed. They've got all the usual suspects like karate and kickboxing, but they also teach kudo and the incredibly unique knife fencing program I've never seen offered anywhere else. Sensei Anatoliy is the real deal. He knows his stuff inside and out, but he's super patient too. I've seen him work with total newbies and advanced students, always finding the right way to explain things. What I love most is how practical everything is. No fancy moves that'll get you beat up in a real fight - just solid, effective techniques. They're not afraid to get a bit rough in training either, which I appreciate. It feels like I'm learning skills I could actually use if I needed to. They've got classes for kids and adults too! If you're tired of the "all show, no substance" martial arts schools out there, give Ballistic Budo a shot. Trust me, you won't regret it!
The club has become my sons second home. He looks forward to training every day. Anatoliy and his staff are stern but nurturing, promoting confidence, self-discipline, respect for elders and courage from the kids. The team is dedicated to teaching the importance of self defense. The club is open 6 days a week and each day is different and students are encouraged to attend every day. From Muy Thai one day to Budo the next, this has been a great experience for my son from the first day he walked in. Definitely would recommend everyone to Ballistic Budo Club.

My daughter has been training at the Ballistic Budo Club for more than 3 years now and I can confidently say it is one of the best things that has happened to her. The trainers are very professional, the trainings are absolutely intense, the tests are real & challenging and finally, there is the utmost emphasis on discipline. All of this contribute to all around physical and mental development of the trainees. The best part is that even with all this intense, strict and serious routines, I see happy kids, who love coming to their trainings, and enjoy working with Sensei. Could not have asked for more. Absolutely wonderful place to learn martial arts. My son and daughter goes there for karate and kickboxing. Kids love to go to every class and can't imagine there day without a training. Sensei Anatoliy , I was amazed to see his patience with students. He never get frustrated of them, but he guide them in politely. encouraging them to do better, and, most importantly, boosting their confidence, desire to achieve new successes.

Owners of this place have semi private classes for all ages at affordable prices. My twins are 4.5 years and they love the interaction both senseis and other kids in class. They are being thought discipline, punches and kicks as well as get to play but by their rules.
