Starting anything after the age of 40 can be stressful, and when it comes to martial arts, it might seem especially daunting. At least, that’s what I thought—until a couple of months ago. Knowing that 90% of success lies in simply starting and showing up, I decided to give Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu a try and joined Primal Academy. From day one, I knew I had found the right place to take that extra leap in my journey toward wellbeing. The environment is welcoming, the coaches are professional, and the sessions are tough—yet always safe and incredibly rewarding. Each class is different. Head coach Ben keeps the training consistent and engaging, while Josh and Jakub bring their own unique styles to the mat. You genuinely look forward to coming back. This isn’t just a 10/10 kind of place. This one goes to 11.

I’ve been training at Primal Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy for a while now, and it’s been an amazing experience. Ben and all the coaches are so knowledgeable and really patient, no matter what your skill level is. Whether you're a total beginner or more experienced, they make sure you're constantly learning and improving. The atmosphere is really welcoming too—everyone's friendly, supportive, and willing to help each other out. Plus, it’s a great workout! If you're looking to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a positive environment, I definitely recommend checking out Primal Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy.

Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere at Primal BJJ. The gym is really clean and well maintained with changing rooms and showers available. The training schedule is excellent with morning, evening and weekend classes available, there is a class time to suit most people. I highly recommend this gym if you are new to BJJ and seeking to learn or you’re are an experienced practitioner and looking to move to a new club.

Started the beginners course 4 weeks ago down in Primal BJJ, and in just 4 weeks we have gotten to learn countless positions, submissions etc... Ben and co, are very patient and tentive to technique always helping and making sure everyone is on even keel before the class progresses forward and there's no such thing as a silly question if you get stuck. There's various programs available in Primal BJJ making it very accessible to all ages from Kids to adults looking to have a new outlet in life, to highly experienced individuals looking for a new gym to continue training. Couldn't recommend more!!!

Primal BJJ is the place to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I think its combination of the good coaching and friendly team mates that make the brilliant atmosphere. On my first day I liked how welcoming everyone was to me. I think that's why I ended up staying! It's over a year since I joined and I now regularly do BJJ competitions. This is honestly something I never thought I would enjoy or have the confidence to do!! I would definitely recommend!
