Ireland has one of the busiest grappling calendars in Europe for its size, with tournaments running almost every month of the year. Dublin hosts the largest share of events, but there is a strong circuit outside the capital too, with regular competitions in Cork, Galway, Kilkenny and Carrick-on-Shannon, plus Belfast just across the border.
Recurring names to look out for include Grappling Industries Dublin, the Dublin International Open, the ADCC Irish Open, the Kilkenny Grappling League and GrappleCity's Connacht Summer Open. Sub-only and league-style formats are popular, so many events offer more mat time than a single-elimination bracket.
Gi and No-Gi divisions are offered in roughly equal measure, and around one in five events runs kids divisions. Adult entry fees are typically in the €20–€45 range, with larger international opens costing more. Autumn is the busiest period, with October and November seeing the most events, followed by June and February.
