I am really loving my experience at Dominion BJJ. At my last school we just learned a submission of the day and drill that over and over. At Dominion the classes are more structured with a strong mix of teaching techniques and drilling. Bill and Michelle are extremely patient with their students and enjoy watching them succeed.

We love DominionBJJ! Coach Bill & Michelle are amazing instructors and have done wonders building up our kids with confidence, technique, & overall respect. They went from complete novices to craving competitions and being wanting to go to the gym with their friends 4-5 times a week. DominionBJJ is also very welcoming. It’s easy to be intimidated as an adult but everybody is super cool & supportive. So much so my wife and I started taking classes as well. Highly recommend if you are interested in BJJ or Muay Thai.

I recommend anyone in the Manassas and surrounding area check out this gym. The two owners/instructors are both black belts and compliment each other well. Michelle is a veteran competitor with a ton of medals from the most prestigious competitions in the BJJ world. Coach Bill is one of the most technical and knowledgeable instructors I know in regards to technique, competition, and anything grappling related. They have a large, clean and beautiful facility. They have programs for adults and children along with an excellent muay thai program. Whether you're interested in jiu-jistu for fun, self-defense, exercise or competition, this is the spot for you.

This place is great! Bill and Michelle are great instructors. My experience with the other students has been fantastic. When rolling with the more experienced belts they have taken time to explain moves, why they worked, why they didn’t work, and how to escape or execute them. Dominion BJJ has a par excellent atmosphere.

We recently relocated to the area, and enrolling my son at Dominion BJJ has proven to be one of the best decisions we've made. Not only does he thoroughly enjoy the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but he has also had the opportunity to make new friends, which has been a delightful experience for us as parents. One of the standout aspects of Dominion BJJ is the exceptional coaching staff. They are not only highly skilled in their craft but also incredibly patient, attentive and knowledgeable when it comes to nurturing young talents. Their dedication to fostering a positive and enriching environment for our children is truly commendable. I highly recommend Dominion BJJ to anyone seeking a top-notch martial arts program for their kids. It's a place where they can both learn and grow, not only in terms of their physical abilities but also in developing valuable life skills, all while having a fantastic time. This has been a wonderful addition to our new life in the area, and we couldn't be happier with our choice.

I've been training Muay Thai for about 2 months and I absolutely love it. It's exactly what I was looking for - legitimate training, sparring, etc. This is NOT an a Muay Thai themed aerobic workout class (UFC Gym, LA Boxing, etc), however, you will definitely get worked out. I started with a generous 30 day trial and would advise you to do the same.

I was able to train here as a drop in and will be coming back. Professors Bill and Michelle were very knowledgable, friendly and accommodating. They started with a good warm up and then focused on the various techniques of the day with good feedback and a lot of reps for us to build muscle memory. If you’re local to the area (or visiting), you should check this place out. They provide great instruction, good training partners and nice clean facility!

Thank you for helping my son feel welcomed and inspired. I am so happy with his transformation. Thank you! I highly recommend!!!

I travel often for work, so this is my third academy in five ish years of training. I train as I travel throughout the country, so I'm familiar with what options are out there. This academy stands above most in quality of instruction and overall culture. They have something to offer the full spectrum of potential students or long term high level competitors. To sum it up they're awesome people, and have created an amazing culture.

So friendly and welcoming! I had pretty much zero fitness when I started, and an old back injury I had to watch out for. I could climb a couple flights of stairs or hike 3-4 miles but not much else. The instructors and students at Dominion BJJ met me where I was, and I never felt pressured or rushed to do more than I was able, or judged for being out of shape or less skilled. I also didn’t feel judged for being a bigger, plus-sized woman but instead was encouraged to use my size as an asset and not be afraid of it. Everybody was just happy I was there and wanted me to come back. Other reviews noting the same things are what made me finally decide to try a class and I’m so glad I did. I noticed fitness improvements after just a couple classes (1-2/week), and my core strength improved so much that I was able to hike twice as long as I could prior to starting BJJ. Improved core strength has also been awesome for my back!! I’ve found great community and new friends as well.

I've been taking my kids (5,13,14) to Dominion BJJ for over a year now and it's great. There are lots of kids and lots of girls in the kids programs as well, so you'll definitely find a comfortable fit for you or your family here. Further, this particular school has the best culture, you aren't just joining a BJJ school, but also a family. You'll be happy here. It's a challenging but positive environment where you and your kids will feel great about earning your promotions, not just getting promoted for attendance and paying the fee. They have one of the only women's only classes with strong attendance in the area as well, led by owner and black belt Michelle Welti. Highly recommend!

I have been going to Dominion BJJ for a year and could not recommend it more. It’s quite intimidating to start BJJ and go into a gym full of people you don’t know. The coaches, Bill and Michelle made me feel a part of the team from day one. The vibe – not only from the coaches, but from the other students is very much that of a team and community. A huge plus for me is that they are welcoming to my children as well. Not only do they offer kids classes, but they also offer before and after school care, and a kid’s room for when I’m training. I would highly recommend the team at Dominion BJJ.

Dominion BJJ has a great atmosphere for beginners. I started training Jiu Jitsu roughly 6 months ago. I didn’t know what to expect walking through the door. On day one I was challenged with exercise drills, positions and some sparing but, it was all well explained and demonstrated. Other students had the patience to provide extra assistance and commentary to ensure I was performing drills/positions correctly. It didn’t take long for me to jump into Muah Thai and Judo. Both classes are equally exciting and informative. If you looking for a good workout.... This is it. I’ve lost roughly 45lbs in a few months taking multiple classes a week. We also have lots of fun gatherings outside of training. It’s a fun family and recommend it to everyone.

I've seen how the boxing coach devotes his time to his students. He is a very detail oriented and patient coach. He teaches proper techniques and always encourages his students to be better. He models how to throw punches, move around the ring and defend. He provides feedback and allows his students to execute it. He makes boxing fun at the same time. I have seen students' transformation over period of months and it's really impressive. It's best to see the students and coach in action so you can see it for yourself.

Making the decision to join something as physically intense as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was intimidating for me. I have severe asthma and am limited on how far I can push my body because of it. I was worried I would feel like the odd girl out from day one and be the person no one wanted to partner with. That never happened here. Our school doesn't make new people feel like pariahs and the instructors have worked with me from the very first to ensure I'm getting the most out of my training without putting my health at risk. The older students are warm and welcoming and eager to help everyone learn and do our best. I feel like my own skills have progressed rapidly under everyone's guidance, and my endurance has grown in leaps and bounds. This is hands down the best place to come for training!
