The best place to learn juijitsu hands down. Professor Wanderlay is simply the best. Not just at juijitsu but as an human being. Super friendly and easy going. Outside of that, everyone who trains there is also very friendly and you can’t beat the atmosphere. A lot of people get nervous to start because they don’t want to get hurt. Here, that is the least of your concerns. Even if you are a brand new white belt and go up against a black belt in the gym, they’ll go nice and slow and teach you a lot. There is a reason why he has so many 5 star reviews. Check it out for yourself, the first class is free I believe so there’s no risk in trying something new!

Professor Daniel and Coach Gabe have created a safe and welcoming community of learners. The instruction is top-notch. Upper belts are great at sharing their knowledge with the lower belts. I could not recommend Wanderlay Jiu-jitsu MMA any stronger.

Bottom line: World class striking and BJJ instruction. They’ve trained world champions at all different organizations. I started kickboxing under Joe Nicole years ago under a different local gym and followed him to Wanderley’s. After meeting and working with Dan Wanderley, I’d never step foot anywhere else. Doesn’t matter if you want to be pro or not, he treats you like you belong. Which is different than a lot of well known gyms. I’ll always make my way back to the MMA gym and this is the one I’ll go to.

I've had the pleasure of working with Daniel before he started his gym, and how welcoming he was to me is what made me join his affiliation. The gym is always extremely clean, his gym offers some of the best BJJ, Kickboxing, and MMA in the area!
I came to @wanderleyjiujitsu as a drop-in for a week while I was traveling. The head coach and owner are very easy to communicate with via social media with fast response time. If you train under one of their affiliate gyms, you might be able to drop in at no cost. This location has two doors, one facing the main street and one inside the parking lot - use the one in the parking lot. (This is only really relevant if you use the bus or lyft for transportation) The facility itself is well lit and very clean. So, no worries about picking up a mat snack. The mats were cleaned immediately after the noon class each day I was there. There is a small sitting area in case you want to pop in and watch a class or bring your partner / kids. There are also men and women's locker rooms available. The head coach Daniel, as well as the members at the gym , are very friendly, encouraging, and welcoming. Daniel is just as skilled at communicating as he is in his sport; if you're struggling, he adapts his explanation to help you understand a technique better. If you're a woman who is considering trying a mixed martial art, I would highly recommend coming to the evening classes as this gym has a large number of women that train.
World Class
This place is amazing! I looked all around Milwaukee when I moved here in 2021, and after seeing what else was out there this place felt like home. People who roll here range from professionals who have been in doing it for decades to hobbyists who are just getting started, from kids to folks in their fifties, and there is room for everyone. Everyone is respectful and careful, and the facilities are impeccably clean and well-maintained. FWIW, I only participate in the BJJ here, but the striking and MMA aspects seem awesome too based on what I have seen and feedback from other students. However you want to measure it -whether it's fantastic team spirit, success in tournaments, or growth trajectory, it's clear that Professor Daniel and his instructors have the right formula for a great gym.
Professor Daniel teaches with great detail and he is very passionate about making sure all of his students are learning the proper jiu jitsu technique. Positive atmosphere and the people here are all great to be around. Competitor or hobbyist you are welcome here.
I’ve been to a handful of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gyms in the Milwaukee area over the years and Wanderley Jiu Jitsu is by far the best one. Great coaches and fellow students.

This is the gym I wish I would have found years ago. Wanderley jiu jitsu has a great group of practitioners ranging from casual beginners to seasoned pros. It is a welcoming place for all levels and abilities. If you are in the area and interested in jiu jitsu don't waste your time anywhere else. Professor Wanderley runs great classes. There is great instruction on technique and plenty of time to get rolls in. Classes have a good mix of belt levels so there is always someone at your level to train with. I had been training for years across the US and overseas before I found Wanderley. I have not learned more in a shorter amount of time than I did here. The technique, level of instruction and atmosphere cannot be matched. I will miss you all and plan to stop in after my "extended stay, all expense paid vacation to an exotic location" is over. Wish you the best.
I had a great experience at Wanderley’s BJJ class! The moment I walked in I was greeted by his son who showed me around and made me feel comfortable and welcomed! Professor Wanderley is very knowledgeable and makes sure everyone is learning the techniques step by step. I started jiu jitsu under Professor Wanderley a little over two years ago. I have moved around alot since and live halfway across the country now, but every time I'm back in Milwaukee I know where I'm going to train! Professor Daniel is a true professional and artist in jiu jitsu and mma. Despite his extensive experience and accolades he is still incredibly humble, easy to talk to, and very welcoming. I have trained at and visited some other schools in the Milwaukee area, and from what I've seen, this one is my favorite! I had been training BJJ for about 5 years before joining Wanderley, and I wish that I had come here years ago! Professor Daniel is very knowledgable, and also teaches his class in a way that is conducive to learning. There is good time for drilling/repetition, and he adds tips and details along the way as you practice. Classes are very active, and there is no wasted time. The team has a good mix of competitors, fighters, and hobbyists, so there are good training partners for everyone. There is a great atmosphere of respect for others, fun, and enthusiasm for the sport. I have been training here since January 2022, and the only reason I am leaving this August is because I am moving out of state. I will really miss this team, and if I ever move back to the Milwaukee area, I know where I will be training!

I Didn’t have any grappling experience but wanted to try BJJ for a while, I emailed Professor Daniel Wanderley and he got back to me and answered all my questions. I went in for my free trial and have been going for about 7 months now, I did not know anyone walking in. The facility is always very clean and the mats get cleaned after every class. Glad I found a world class BJJ academy so close to home.
Putting my grandchildren into BJJ classes here was the best thing I could have done for them. Coach Gabriel is so good working with the kids. And Professor Daniel is a high level instructor that pays attention to the details. I would highly recommend enrolling adults and children into classes here.
I visited Wanderley Jiu-jitsu from out of town. Professor Wanderley and his students welcomed me into their gym. I got world-class instruction and good solid technical rolls with brown belts, white belts, and both colors in between. Everyone was great and accommodating. Daniel Wanderley is the most highly decorated jiu jitsu coach in Milwaukee. 4th degree black belt under Carlson gracie jr. Prior to starting this gym he was the head jiu jitsu coach & lead corner man for roufusport for almost a decade. He is a 5x national champion, 2x Pan American champion. Joe Nicols is the striking coach & previously was the head striking coach at roufusport. Gabriel Wanderley is the kids coach. At 19 years old he is 5-1 in mma, undefeated in jiu jitsu super fights and pancration, has competed in over 500 jiu jitsu matches…5x national champion, Pan American champion. So all the coaches here have a wealth of knowledge in training athletes & competition.

Wonderful gym to learn martial Arts. I was completely new to the Brazilian Ju Jitsu lifestyle and it was very comforting my first time. Professor Daniel Wanderly was very attentive and made everything very easy to follow. He is a great professor and expert in the world but it is clear his biggest passion is sharing his expertise with his students. I am excited to continue to learn and grow under him as a BJJ artist. Joining kickboxing classes has been fun and a great workout as well! Coach Joe Nicols is very seasoned and a well-rounded Maui Thai instructor and it’s an honor to learn under him. I started bringing my kids for striking and jiu jitsu class November of 2018 and I decided to join and I can tell you that jiu jitsu is not easy but boy that martial arts it’s addictive, I definitely recommend to anyone or anybody that want to change their life style to do it, and not only that but you will have the best instructors in Wisconsin professor Daniel wanderley and couch Gabriel wanderley are the best and don’t forget about striking couch joe Nicols best couches, you won’t find them anywhere else very professional people I truly recommend them come for your free trial you won’t regret oss.

This is the right place to start if you want to learn BJJ and Kickboxing. Daniel and Joe are super friendly, making very easy to start this rather intimidating sports. You will feel at home and learn very quick. Mats are clean, the equipment is brand new and the atmosphere is very relaxed and family oriented.
This gym has nothing but good energy. The people that go there turn into family, and everyone roots for everyone. We love getting newbies and helping them fall in love with the gentle art as much as we all enjoy it!!! The coaches there are phenomenal, very patient and never make you feel stupid for not understanding something, they work with you until you get it. I never thought I would find myself competing in tournaments, but now I am! We have a very supportive and empowering girl gang and would love to see that grow!
