Crossover BJJ is like a family! Over a decade ago, my kids started attending youth classes here. Professor Bob and the coaching team are absolutely fantastic with the kids. They not only focus on technique and skill but also instill important values. They educate the children on when, why, and how to use jiu-jitsu, all while keeping the sessions enjoyable. Now, after a decade, both of my boys proudly continue their journey as blue belts. The adult classes boast a wonderful community of people. Having been part of Crossover for more than 10 years, we've seen many faces come and go, but a dedicated core group remains committed to honing their skills and sharing their knowledge. For beginners, this gym is an excellent choice. The fundamentals class covers essential basics, perfect for those uncertain about grappling or "rolling" with others. From youngsters to those young at heart, Crossover caters to all ages. And let's not forget Yoga on Monday nights with Inga—it's not your typical yoga class; it's way better!
My son has been going there and loves it. Coaches are great.
I've been to this gym for some specialized training to help me be a better police officer. The owner has expert-level knowledge and is willing to share that knowledge to make better cops. I have also attended other training events where Bob has used his knowledge in BJJ to show how it crosses over to solid concepts that help cops control resistive people from levels of simple resistance to life threatening resistance. Thanks Bob!
Bob and Ryan are awesome coaches with a high level of BJJ skill as well as awesome instructors that will help you learn fast! If you are in the Wauwatosa or Brookfield area, definitely check out training with them at Crossover.
Top tier academy! Friendly people, fantastic instructors, and a clean, well-maintained facility. Stop in for some rolls and you won't be disappointed.
Great instructors, great place to train! No egos there! Professional classes and training.
Crossover has incredibly knowledgeable coaches. They take the time to make sure you fully understand each technique they demonstrate.
Great instruction, great people and a great place to go if you want to give jiu jitsu a shot!
Lessoned here at least a year... Modest-sized studio that is unbelievably clean & well maintained. Great work-outs result in plenty of sweating, so thoroughly cleaned at least once daily. Serious & honest about the practice of jiujitsu. Very welcoming to families, range in young kids to older adults of all sizes. Nice variety of classes separated for kids & adults, beginner to advanced. No extraneous charges or pushing Tshirts/chachkies. Awesome & encouraging instructors who really know their stuff.
Started Crossover a year ago with my first child. Second child started a few months ago, it's amazing what a few months can do and with that said one year you're a new person. This academy is like a second home. The instructors are excellent and they have formats for kids, adults and self defense.
I have not trained at their gym but I attended a seminar from the coaches and it was phenomenal. These guys are legit, respectful, and love to share their knowledge.
My whole family has nothing but good things to say about our experience at Crossover Bjj. My kids love going there because Bob their instructor makes the class fun. We like the fact that Bob also talks about being respectful to all and using jujitsu for self defense NOT showing off. If you are looking for an after school activity that will not only teach your kids self defense but also teach them how to be a good person I would recommend Bobs class. My wife and I also attend Crossover. Ryan their head instructor is one of the best jujitsu instructors around. Although he is very passionate about jujitsu, Ryan is very easy going which makes it easier for students who are new to jujitsu. Ryan cares about his craft and his students. I would highly recommend him as an instructor. For those who are nervous about Jujitsu, I would recommend a Sunday class for beginners. The class is taught by Jorge. Jujitsu can be intimidating for new students, but Jorge does a fantastic job easing you in. At times he goes out of his way and brings donuts and coffee for the class. Jorge volunteers his time to the Sunday class because he truly loves jujitsu and wants the new people to have a good time. Jorge goes out of his way to help any/all his students. If you want to try jujitsu, try to attend his Sunday class first. I would highly recommend Crossover Bjj to all.
Have been bringing my 2 boys here for 4 half years and truly amazed at the kids instructors! Finally go myself enrolled and love it. Everyone if always willing to help!
I'm willing to travel 1.5 hours to come train down here with these guys, that should tell you everything you need to know about how great this gym is! Top notch coaching with Professor Ryan Courtney and Bob Duffey. The facilities are great as well. Get instruction and facilities aside, it really feels like you are apart of a big family once you join. You won't find a more welcoming group of people to train with!
We've had our daughter training Jiu Jitsu here for almost a year now and we love it. The instructors are great. I really appreciate that they stress a positive, non-violent philosophy and that they try to build character. Benefits for my child also include confidence, developing a love of exercise, a lot of fun, and of course developing good self-defense skills. I highly recommend the academy.
I wouldn't send my child anywhere else! The instructors are caring and make learning Jiu Jitsu fun and challenging. My expectations have been exceeded!
This school has been a wonderful experience. The instructors are great, and you get many physical and mental benefits from training.
This place really has something for everyone! Kids, Adults, New or Experienced! Best Jiu-jitsu instruction I've ever had.
The quality of instruction is unmatched! The instructors really care and make learning fun and easy.
