Master Yoon is an excellent teacher and an inspiring leader. I’ve had my son here for years now and over time my son has developed a fantastic of focus and discipline that would have otherwise been challenging for him to achieve without Tsunami as a place to channel his energy. My son has learned so much of Taekwondo here and that I trust, will carry through the rest of his life!
Posted 11 months agoI really enjoy attending Tsunami with my daughter. It started out as a deal from groupon for something new that turned into something great. It's family oriented, the parents are welcoming and friendly, and the coaches are really nice. They're serious about their craft but still leave room for the children to enjoy the sport. I would recommend you try it. All staff are professional, caring, and engaged. I am now an active member of the organization and a part of the Tsunami family.
Posted 2 years agoI initially signed up for a Muay Thai special the gym offered--already a major plus. I've tried so many gyms where you have to fully sign on after one or two classes and, while I was pretty certain about Tsunami after the first weekend I tried, being able to mull things over and see a range of classes before committing to a membership was very helpful. After this trial, I committed to six months--the price is reasonable AND they explain everything up front in human terms which is always a plus. I have so enjoyed getting back into MT after about a decade away from the mat. I recently gained some grad school weight and wanted to get back into a sport that was fun and distracting from the fact that it's exercise. The staff and teachers at Tsunami are ZERO judgemental. Every class is positive and fun--while also being a significant work out. The students range from dorks like me to actual fighters and, thanks to the experienced coaches, you learn no matter your level. I can't say enough positive things about the gym, but I'll end the review here!
Posted 1 year agoUPDATE 7/12/23: I updated my review to remove a fee I listed in error. I found out they do not charge a renewal registration fee for existing memberships. ORIGINAL 7/7/23: My daughter has been coming here for exactly a year on 7/9/2023. I actually really like this place. The Coach and the Master instructor are REALLY GREAT with kids. (The owner is a Gemini so duhh) lol They really give you good class times for your buck. He holds a total of 4 classes during the week for TKD (Tues, Wed Thurs & Sat). That's literally 12 classes a month for the monthly price. Sometimes I am late on my payment and they works with me so I really appreciate that. My child started off as a white belt and is currently an orange belt (& she missed one belt ceremony). So if your child does the work and learns their skills they will definitely be recognized for it and advance to the next level. With that being said I have to outline the fees for any single parents struggling with balancing household expenses and your child's activities. So, you get to choose your membership options and I chose the yearly option where I pay monthly but whatever your monthly charge is slap on an extra $5 bucks as a service fee to make the payment. Also keep in mind, every belt ceremony requires a belt fee & any tournament or class event that is thrown will require a fee (which is understandable but sometimes the prices are extreme for a one parent household). I'm not complaining I'm just telling you so you can plan accordingly. Overall we really love Coach Joe and Coach Paul and we won't be going anywhere else!
Posted 1 year agoMy daughter loves it and so do I. The coaches are awesome, they teach more than just MMA, they teach the kids how to all around good people. The kids aren't allowed to laugh at anyone who doesn't quite know a move. I love how the kids that have been there for a while m, helps the kids that just started. I will definitely be sending my daughter there on a regular, all the employees are really kind.
