All three of my children have attended karate with Sensei Steve, and I have only very positive feedback to give. The ethos of the academy is incredibly warm and inclusive- great for building confidence, strength and respect. Steve is a wonderful teacher- clear and kind and calm. He uses other teachers who are also patient and good humoured. The centre is clean and warm and safe, and there is a great sense of camaraderie amongst huge students. I would 100% recommend.

We would give this academy 6 stars if it would be possible. Very good teachers, excellent safeguarding of minors, safe space to learn…all students and parents I’ve spoken to say the same.

My son Toby has been training here for over 6 years. The tuition is exceptional Sensei Steve and his team offer way more than amazing teaching. Toby has gained confidence in a way that I can't describe. Sensei Steve is an absolute role model and a very special human being. The community he has created based on care, respect and dedication is a very special thing. The hall is always very clean and safety is paramount. We feel very lucky that Toby trains here, it is such a huge part of his life and something we are all very proud of.

My two children have been training at Trodai almost a year. We moved here from their previous club and were a little apprehensive about the transition. As it turns out, we had absolutely nothing to worry about. Sensei Steve is a great instructor. His knowledge, and that of all the instructors at Trodai, is second to none and their ability to break down instruction to cater for all ages and into real world application is terrific. The kids not only know how, but more importantly why they are practising the technique that is being delivered that lesson. Steve, together with his team of instructors are extremely approachable. They have a genuine passion for what they do and this is comes through delivery of the lesson and their interaction with the children. They make time to listen and address any concerns you may have. The Club is very welcoming, and a safe place to train regardless of experience levels. Every effort is made to maintain hygiene levels. In addition to the safeguards put in place by the instructors, the kids are also expected to take responsibility for maintaining basic hygiene levels during levels. I would highly recommend the Trodai Academy to anyone looking to begin or continue their Martial Arts journey.

My 8 year old daughter has been going to Trodai since she was 5. It’s a fantastic place, extremely clean and well organised. Sensei Steve is a terrific tutor - great with all the young people coming to the academy - makes everyone feel safe, warm and welcome, no matter what experience level. I highly recommend.
