  This place is the best. If you’re looking for a workout that isn’t boring and will teach you actual skill, this is the place for you. If you want to wow your friends and family with a sick rear naked choke, look no further. This gym will help you reach whatever martial arts goals you may have! I’ve been coming here multiple times a week, every week, for almost 7 years, and I still like these people. They are the absolute best and will make you a total badass.

  I’ve been attending this gym since approximately 2017. Since I started my jiu-jitsu journey, I’ve learned a lot of valuable information relative to my career field. Mr. Medley and his wife do a great job with all aspects of running a successful martial arts gym, offering different programs such as Muay Thai, boxing and even other classes for young children and teenagers. I’ve always felt welcomed and had no complaints with the service and quality of the content that is being taught. I have a great amount of respect for Mr. Medley and his establishment and will continue to train there. I encourage anyone who’s interested in learning a new skill set and wants to enhance their mental and physical capabilities to give it a try. I did and I’m pleased with my results.

  Our son loves his little kids BJJ class! He enjoys the coaches, his classmates, and the atmosphere - perfect combination of structure, learning and fun for a 3.5 year old! He enjoys going to class so much that he asks if he can go everyday! Thank you Coach Tierra and the rest of the team for a great first experience for him! We recommend them 100%!

  I have been training Muay Thai and BJJ here for about 2 years. This gym has high-quality coaches who demonstrate techniques in detail and cater to each member's learning needs and limitations. The gym is always clean and well-maintained.

  Expert coaching staff ensure excellent instruction. Clean facility; owners constantly pouring money into upgrades for the academy. Grappling classes integrate techniques from various discplines, e.g., wrestling, judo, and traditional jiu jitsu to form a well-rounded curriculum. The coaches cater to various learning styles to make sure everyone is focused and learning; they genuinely care about each student's progress. Got manhandled by a 13 year old half my size. I guess jiu jitsu works. 10/10 highly recommend to anyone looking to improve their overall lifestyle.

  We love this gym! Our kids have been attending Jiu Jitsu kids classes for two years. This is not an after-school program, it’s a dedicated class that actually teaches your kids the discipline and art of Jiu Jitsu. Coach Earl keeps the class size small so each child gets the attention they need. I highly recommend this gym for anyone who wants their kids to learn to defend themselves and build confidence.

  I chose TN BJJ Academy over several other schools I visited for three primary reasons: 1. The facility is clean with all the bags, mats, and training aids to learn both BJJ and stand up arts like boxing or Muay Thai. 2. The head instructor and owner explained that he emphasized real self defense BJJ over sport Jiu Jitsu, even though the school students are successful in competitions 3. The school has separate and outstanding instructors in Tae Kwon Do, boxing, wrestling, and BJJ. Now that I have been attending classes for around 6 months, I have even more reasons for being glad I chose this school. The most important thing is the classes are fun! All the students have a good time laughing while we learn techniques because Coach Earl (the head of the school) makes the moves and the ways we might get them wrong funny. This leads to a light hearted atmosphere while we add skills. Also, the coach makes sure no one rolls or works to aggressively. This is critical because BJJ is challenging enough without worrying if the experienced students are trying to crush beginners. In this school, that has never happened to me because the school will not allow it. Most importantly, the way the classes are taught emphasizes character development including learning to focus while under stress, learning to relax while working hard, being mentally tough when in bad positions, and the warrior spirit. From children to adults, everyone can benefit from these character traits, and you definitely learn them at TN BJJ Academy. Joining the school and regularly going to classes has been by far the best investment I have made in myself. I only wish I had started training when I was a child! At least I am doing BJJ now and enjoying the benefits.

  Dropped into TN-BJJ Academy tonight as an out of town guest and had a great time. This is a great group of guys that display absolutely no ego or pressure. It's never easy heading into a gym where you don't know anyone but right away Ray and his guys were right there to welcome me into their class. Nakanna is another guy that I ran into who could not have been nicer. If you are considering learning BJJ you should go visit this academy!

  I have attended many martial arts schools over the years and I visited several MMA gyms in the Nashville area. From my visits I felt Nemesis was the best and my time there shows I was right. Very knowledgeable instructors, friendly students and a great atmosphere.

  I was looking for a place to train and when i found Nemesis MMA i knew i was at the right place. I found coaches that were mentors and a family that i needed. My whole family including my children train at Nemesis. Coach Danny Jones took me in and made me family. I can never repay him for the things he has taught me and my children. From world class fighters to teaching children to be leaders, Nemesis is the best!

  Nemisis School of MMA is extremely empressive. They have everything a MMA Competitor needs to prepare for fight; great training facility, subject matter experts for each martial art style offered and devoted teamates that work with and encourage each other to better themselves in martial arts as well as improve overall moral character. The coaches go out of their way to invest time and energy into students that show devotion and determination. When Nemisis fighters go to competitions they are there to win, the quality of training shows when they step into the cage and dominate their opponents consistantly at many venues. I definitely recommend Nemisis to anyone interested in getting involved in the sport or perfect any skills they already have in martial arts.

  I was unable to continue training because of work. This buisness still continued to withdraw money from my account for almost a year. No other school I've ever trained at does this. Other schools If you cant come anymore they'll do the decent thing and cancel your contract.
