This is really a great Jiu Jitsu school. There is really something here for everyone of any level of ability and experience, from little kids classes and adult beginner classes, to women's and competition classes. Whatever your goal is for Jiu Jitsu, the black belts and coaches here work hard to make sure you're on the right path. It really has a family oriented vibe and it's really welcoming to newcomers. Highly recommend this school.
Posted a year agoNot bad, they had a nice facility. I had my son there a couple weeks but didn't even finish a full month there before we switched gyms to gracie barra. I was very impressed with the coach Gabriel though he was a good example for the kids amd always came by to shake all the adults hands after each class which I respected. Overall though, there were too many kids in the class and after they showed the kids a move, my kid would still need help getting the move right, but too often I'd see an instructor walk right by my son doing the move incorrectly and not stop to correct him or help him get it right, which is ultimately why anyone signs up in the first place. On top of that, legion was far more expensive than the other local gyms. We landed at gracie barra afterward and we immediately could see the difference in focus and attention making sure each kid understood the move before moving on amd they do a great job of assuring the kids are engaged during class. When I tried to cancel classes at legion I called several times and left messages but no one answered or returned my calls. It took several attempts to get ahold of them to cancel our classes.
Posted 8 months agoAbsolutely first class! It was such a welcoming environment. The upper belts take the time to show you skills. Professor Gabriel is knowledgeable and provides a wide availability of classes throughout the week! Highly recommend them!
Posted a year agoMy husband and I decided to sign our daughter ( 9yrs old at the time, now nearly 13) for self defense. Legion Jiu Jitsu has done wonders on her self confidence, has embraced us as family to the point our 5 and 3 year olds, my husband and myself have joined. Professor Gabriel is a great instructor, always encouraging. He and the other coaches have created a positive and inclusive environment. Legion also offers a women’s program that is incredible as well, the women are welcoming and very supportive. There are exclusive women’s only classes on Friday nights and Saturday mornings. I love being apart of Legion.
Posted a year agoWe have been with Legion since they opened their doors in 2018. When you train jiu jitsu you find yourself learning not just a martial art but also what your capable of. You train to get deeper into what are endless possibilities of self defense and along your journey you find a jiu jitsu family! At Legion we enter the mats and we share our journey together, if we compete or don’t compete we are all treated the same. We learn, we respect our Professor, we respect our partners, we support each other, we support our school and our team. I completely recommend Legion 100% and as always WE ARE CHECKMAT - TOGETHER AS 1 🤙🏻
