Trained here since I was 15 to 19. The best gym I've been to. Mike is very knowledgeable and very welcoming to everyone. The gym was always clean and well maintained. Very good atmosphere in the gym. Great gym to drop into if you are visiting from out of town as well.

I signed my son up for lessons so he could learn a new skill and make some new friends. We started at a couple locals gyms in the Boro but eventually I felt my son was not getting the level of attention needed to help him improve or even feel comfortable. After a friend suggested it, we decided to try gracie barra out to see if it would be a better fit. I could immediately see a difference between GB and the other gyms we had tried. Here at GB my son received the needed encouragement to get started and has made noticeable improvements to his confidence and his understanding of what it is he's learning. I ended up eventually signing myself up for classes as well. Mike is an excellent example for my son to learn from both in jiu jitsu and teaching respect. Also the atmosphere and people who train here for both kids and adults classes are all very invested in helping each other collectively improve. I'm glad we made the switch.

The team at Gracie Barra in Murfreesboro are very welcoming and respectful. The studio facility is the better than most others. The class schedule is frequent enough where I can always get in some training. I have gained a lot and pushed my self to new limits that I never thought I would test. My kids love coming as well. The 13 year old is learning the fundamentals of self-defense and building self-confidence; and my 8 year old is improving quickly. My wife has just started also and I'm so glad that we have found a place where we can all fit in and share a common practice in the family. Jiu jitsu is often referred to as the gentle art, and after a few classes with Professor Mike, I completely agree. Gently choking people to sleep : )

Professor Mike is so friendly and a great mentor! He has many years of experience with running an academy and coaching! He also holds many world titles in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu! Professor Mike is an amazing person to work with for personal train and family training! I always learn so much from him!

I have been an active member of Mike's jujitsu gym for several years now, and it has indeed been a fantastic experience. Mike is nothing short of phenomenal. His profound knowledge, patience, and the passion with which he imparts his skills are truly inspirational. Mike has a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome, regardless of their fitness level or martial arts experience. His open-door policy encourages cross-training, fostering an environment rich in diversity and learning. As a parent, I was thrilled to introduce my young kids to this discipline, and they love training there. The way Mike and his team engage with the children is remarkable. They strike the perfect balance between discipline and fun, which has the kids eagerly anticipating their classes. Recently, we had a fantastic 'Trunk or Treat' event for the kids. It was such a joy to see the excitement on their faces, and such events only amplify the wonderful sense of community at the gym. The culture here is just incredible. Parents actively engage, and the camaraderie shows as they root for, not just their kids, but everyone else's as well. Moreover, the gym itself is very clean and well-maintained, the other members are supportive and friendly. I love Professor Mike! Gracie Barra Murfreesboro has a good atmosphere. For the short time I was there everyone treated me like family. Professor Mike, Professor Carl, and Professor Danielle really took the time to get to know me. They are truly invested in you as a student and as a person. When I came to Professor Mike’s school I was getting right back into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Professor Mike helped me develop my Jiu Jitsu in many areas I would not have been comfortable exploring if it was not for his teachings. Thanks to the Professors, Coaches, and students at Gracie Barra Murfreesboro I competed in my first IBJJF. Gracie Barra Murfreesboro is a wonderful family friendly place. Professor Mike will take the time to make a genuine connection with you and help develop your jiu jitsu in the best way possible!
