They'll be with you every step of the way, from your first class onward. As a woman, it is an especially great place to train as they take care to create a comfortable, and welcoming training environment in a largely male dominated sport. I went to watch my nephew get his first belt and this place was awesome! The coaches were great with the kids and able to keep their attention the whole time. In the next room there were adults practicing advanced movements and I felt like I was learning something just by watching. I would definitely recommend this place for adults and parents who want to learn Jiu Jitsu and add some structure / discipline to their lives. I wrestled for over 12 years and it was refreshing seeing a professional gym in action.

Literally life changing! 1 year ago I weighed about 330 pounds and had no real social circle. Now I weigh 268 pounds and hangout with people I have met in the gym in my free time outside the gym. This place has made me more health conscious, more humble and much less stressed. The people are amazing, the instructors are world class and you will not find a better, more friendly place to train anywhere. There are a ton of different classes too: MMA, Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, Fitness Kickboxing. There really is something for everyone here. I am a year in and I am excited for may more years to come. Come train here, and I believe you will be hooked by the end of the first lesson.

This is truly a friendly and caring gym. I love the fact that if you miss a class or two they are emailing/texting to let you know that you are missed. I bring started bring my 13 year old son a couple months ago and it has been the only sport/activity that has really held his interest! The instructors are amazing as are all the kids and parents who attend. We enjoyed it so much I recently started bringing my 4 year old as well. Im 47 years old and started 10th Planet JuJitsu in Springfield almost 1 year ago. I have no experience in Jujitsu otherwise. A flag advertising for Springfield Superheroes 10th Planet JJ happened to be placed down the street from me one day. My wife and I had just moved from Tucson, had a new baby, new jobs and were very new to this area. However, once I decided to ignore my trepidation of starting something totally different and unknown, I will say from day 1, everyone treats you like family. To include the potlucks, themed open mats, seminars from highly regarded Jujitsu experts, numerous class schedules to fit just about any lifestyle, and most importantly a safe place/environment for your kids to develop to art of Jujitsu. When our son turns 4 we will have no hesitation to enroll him with this Gym. Mike Dewitt, the front desk staff, instructors and students have changed my life.

Superhero Jiu Jitsu is such a fun place. I go for the kickboxing classes and have been going off and on for a year. It’s a super friendly environment and they are extremely welcoming, even to people who don’t consistently show up. They always greet you and ask how you’ve been, etc. The instructors are funny and encouraging, and the workouts are hard.

Not only is Coach Mike a specimen and highly experienced in jiu jitsu, he is also a brilliant instructor; relatable and inviting to everyone who walks in the door. I started here a few years ago in the fitness kick boxing not even knowing what jiu-jitsu was. After looking over at all these weirdos trying to break or choke each other with huge smiles on their faces I decided to give it a shot... LET ME TELL YOU, it rewired my brain. I gained confidence through the ability to defend myself, I shaped my ego to be used productively, and I learned how to build healthy relationships. Before I even realized it I lost 40 pounds! This place is my home away from home, when you come in and try it out you will be positively welcomed! My kids also train here and love it! Coaches are fantastic and obviously love what they do!

My son is ADHD and takes a while to catch on but LOVES coming to class and the instructor does great at keeping the kids attention and letting the kids know it's OK not to be great yet. I started training here a year ago, with no athletic background at all. I was hoping for a friendly environment and good instruction, but 10th Planet Springfield surpassed all of my expectations. It might sound stupid, but the second day I came I was surprised to discover that Mike already remembered my name, and was glad to see me. I felt instantly welcome. It's little things like that which really set this gym apart. The environment is amazingly positive, and even complete newbies like me are made to feel totally at home. The level of instruction is extremely high. Mike doesn't hand out belts very often, and when he does, it's because someone has really earned it. The blue belts are amazingly skilled and athletic, but they're all so sweet and friendly that even as they are constantly submitting me I still have a great time. I feel that I'm constantly improving thanks to the great instruction by Mike Dewitt and Dustin Castleberry. Please come and try it out! You won't regret it! It's one of the best decisions I've ever made.

This is by far the best group of people you can learn from. NOT JUST Jiu Jitsu, but sportsmanship, humility and down right family. This place is the snazziest jiu jitsu academy in town. All the cool cats gather here to practice their slick wizardry. I used to be a mere mortal man since joining 10th planet Springfield I have morphed in to a superhero with the ability to choke a person to sleep weather it be a muscle bound brute or an innocent old lady, witch basically means I’m better then most average people walking around on the streets. Anything less then five stars would be absolutely ridiculous .

Mike is a super legit 10th Planet Black belt and over all just a great guy! This is also one of the only Jiu-Jitsu programs out there PERIOD that have quality program for kids as young as 3 years old and also has a quality adult team. That's so rare! We loved this place but when we had to stop going due to scheduling issues they charged us for another month after we gave them plenty notice ... disappointed with their acceptance of our respectful leaving. Charged us $204 for a month we would not attend. Bummer. I'm expecting to get some kind of reply to that's what we signed up for in our contract, but, being a fellow local business owner, I'd have respected the 25 day notice vs the 30 day notice to a family that has paid on time every month for two years.... but thats just me

Called about getting my daughter into some classes. Staff was friendly and they were quick to set us up for a complimentary class to try out. They wanted to wait until after the class to discuss pricing. The reason for the low score is the high pressure sales tactics they use. After the class, when your child is pumped up, they sit you down in a very public space to discuss financials, poor form. Then, they hit you with a $400 joining fee which, is discounted to 200 if you sign up that day/night. BTW, there is still a $99 a month tuition. The 200/400 fee is a fee that simply gives you the right to pay tuition, you get zero for the 200/400 fee. So, one star because they use used car salesman tactics from the 70's...
