Solid gym with real training. High level BJJ and Muay Thai, no ego, no fluff - just hard work and technical coaching. If you want to get sharper, stronger, and tougher, this is the place.

I dropped in for a morning class and everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The coaches take the time to meet you at your skill level and help with all the details, big and small. Lots of parking, clean mats and facilities, and a great vibe overall! Highly recommend!

540 jiu-jitsu has a wonderful vibe, big beautiful studio with ample space. The staff is very welcoming, and the facilities are modern with locker rooms and showers. I'm impressed with my experience so far, I'm a new student and feel right at home. Thank you 540!

Really clean facility. Very inviting for women, children, and vets. The staff is really down to earth and knowledgeable. Great instruction taught by world cladding instructors, ie Justin Flores.

Fortunate enough to train here for one year. Along with being a great gym with great instructors, it's one of the nicest facilities I've ever visited. Large variety of skill with several different styles on BJJ to learn from. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area

this place is amazing. phenomenal instructors, no ego. they are inclusive and friendly. The level of talent that comes through here is incredible. The shower facilities are amazingly clean and the mats are in fantastic condition and sterilized daily.

The best jiu jitsu studio I have trained at. the gym cleanliness is immaculat, they have amazing showers which helps me fit the classes into my busy work schedule. There is always multiple black belts at each class. The jiu jitsu is top class. Each black belt has their own style and techniques which makes it fantastic for learning and becoming the best. And on top of that everyone is friendly and welcoming.

Studio 540 is the single best jiu jitsu school in all of San Diego. There are so many black belts and they’re all beyond amazing. All the people there are so friendly and welcoming and make absolutely amazing training partners. The level of skill at this school is just insane. I was so hesitant coming here and joining because it’s such a scary sport at first but I’m so I love with jiu jitsu now I can’t imagine my life without it and without 540!

Studio 540 is an amazing place to train Jiu-jitsu. Instructors are friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone at the studio is very welcoming. Great community to join. Showers at the gym so you don't need to drive home sweaty. I signed up in December 2021, it's been a great experience.

This place is pure magic: incredibly competent, warm people; impeccable facility; awesome students and a great general vibe. The studio feels like a tight community of kind, generous and awesome humans. Our 13yo daughter wanted to learn jiujitsu and now, after a month, she cannot get enough. She loves her coaches (Jessica and Aaron are a rock stars) and she even started getting into muy thai and loves it as well. I cannot tell you how happy we are with the studio - I encourage you to explore it for yourself. We are lucky we found it.

Joining Studio 540 has been one of the best decisions I've made in the past couple of years. The lessons learned in discipline and pushing myself to another level have been invaluable. I feel lucky to have such great instructors! Vicki and Jessica are always in the front to greet us with a warm smile :)

I don’t train myself but i can see the positive effect it has on my boyfriend. He’s always much more relaxed and at peace after training. Plus it gets him in great shape which i don’t mind either. I just wish he would stop practicing moves on me lol, just kidding i like that too.

Highly recommend this place. The level of instruction is world class and the culture/environment is very chill. They got something for everyone here. If you want to turn it up a bit and go hard there will be someone happy to accommodate and if you feel like just flowing around and going light you can do that too. On top of all of that the facilities are sparkling clean - whic really is a nice luxury to have. Great place to learn martial arts, get in shape, or get competition ready. Great kids classes as well.

This is a hidden gem in Solana Beach. I’ve been coming here for about 3 years and this academy has consistently been an amazing facility to train at. The level of instruction is world-class and the community is impeccable; I’ve formed friendships with some of the kindest, conscientious people a person could meet. Everyone who trains here supports one another to become the best person they can be on and off the mat. They welcome people of all ages, shapes, sizes, and backgrounds. Studio 540 has been a place that has really facilitated my personal transformation. Since starting, I’ve lost weight, gotten stronger, more flexible and mobile, more coordinated, and my stamina has never been better. It’s been so much fun.

Studio 540 has been my home gym for the last 5 or so years. It is the nicest gym I've ever been a part of. It's no wonder they call it the "Ritz of Jits." The vibe is great, and everyone is mellow. It doesn't matter what affiliation you train under. Everybody is always welcome. They offer a wide variety of different techniques (BJJ, Judo, Muay Thai, etc), and have a great amount of class time offerings that can fit any schedule. If you're looking for a great vibe and excellent training, this is the spot for you!

Very welcoming atmosphere, especially to travelers. I did a drop in noon class. I had the pleasure of seeing Rob( the owner) teach his take on mount attacks. I enjoyed his teaching style and overall vibe of the gym. He is very friendly and approachable. I complimented him on his establishment and he has plans to improve more.

Our sons (ages 7 and 5) love this place and so do we! Excellent instruction with the best student/teacher ratios. We visited other studios from Encinitas down to Del Mar, and Studio 540 in Solana Beach is our favorite by far! Highly recommend!
