My 3 yr old son has been attending karate class here since the beginning of the summer and he absolutely loves it. He tells everyone about it and loves to practice on people. Lol. I definitely recommend RISE especially after witnessing how good they are with younger children. Looking forward to watching my son grow in his skill here with RISE!

They create a positive and structured environment where the students feel motivated and confident. My son looks forward to every class and is already showing more focus and discipline at home. They are amazing with the Littles and children of all ages. ABBY is the best teacher and a true asset to the family business. They are now offering adult classes that I plan on joining as well. Rise martial arts is amazing!! We have tried out atmeast 3 in the area and this one my girls really stuck to! They look forward to going every time. The kids are leveling up with proper skill and not just to make them happy. They are told to use the skill they have been learning while grappling with carefully supervision. The teachers are so well skilled, love the kids and have alot of patients for them. They have an open are there you can watch the kiddos while you chit chat with a parent and a small kids playing area for kiddos who arnt participating. The registration is easy, very friendly staff!

I've really enjoyed seeing my son (5) grow in confidence, skill, and strength. He's enjoyed this experience and comes out of every class with a smile. I haven't seen a single example of negative reinforcement, yelling, etc. Some things I've been impressed with RISE: Accountability: the kids are taught to not make excuses and that they shouldn't be scared to own up to mistakes. Emotional Discipline: i saw a student get angry over "losing" a challenge, so he punched the floor and yelled. The instructor immediately had a 1 on 1 and explained "thats not how we handle things when we are angry". I think a few pushups were involved as well 🤣. In a society that seems to lack emotional awareness, this is more important than ever. Communication: for kids, sometimes working with people older than them is intimidating; the instructors communicate great with the kids, and the kids seem to be comfortable and communicate back well.

Originally we were looking for a tae kwon do gym. We visited a nearby facility and were not happy with having the 12 year olds mixed in with adults so we left that place and googled martial arts and came across Rise. We stopped in just to observe and were thoroughly impressed. First off they have classes with different age ranges geared toward kids under 20. This was a game changer. Our son is in classes with kids age 12-17. He feels comfortable being around other teenagers. This studio teaches mixed martial arts which we love because the students learn moves that they can use to defend themselves out in the real world if needed. This actually really resonated with us since our son was interested in martial arts because he has been a victim of bullying for many years. We feel so blessed to stumble upon this facility in our search. Our son is learning confidence, respect, and great skills that he can use to protect himself. The students earn belts just like in other martial arts. We plan to stay here until he learns all he can and that would be a black belt. He is just a white belt, but with time and patience he will reach the top and face the world with confidence and be able to protect himself.

I tried a few places before finding this gem that is conveniently in my neighborhood. In my infinite wisdom I was reluctant to believe that we were so fortunate enough to have such an amazing facility nearby. What piqued my interest were the extraordinarily consistent 5 star reviews. The pessimist in me assumed that most of them must be friends and family taking care of the owner. I was able to overcome my pessimism when I was told the first session was a free no obligation deal and I was sure that it would be the last for my hyperactive, extremely undersized, but very well meaning son. Here I am almost four months later writing this long overdue and effusive review. The owner of this facility sets the tone for his awesome staff. Their program is very structured and takes into account kids short attention span by incorporating many different aspects of physical and mental fitness, character building, martial arts techniques and drills into several timed segments. They motivate the kids and also instill structure and discipline. The kids don’t clown around too much but still have an amazing time and are engaged throughout the lessons. My only regret was not signing up any sooner. Mr. Fletcher and his team bring such an intimate and family feel in spite of the size of the program. They actually know the names of all the kids as if they are their own and take time to provide personalized instruction as needed to everyone. Get on their waiting list because I promise you it’ll be well worth it for your child.

2/3 of my girls started off with little interest in Karate and now they all love it. It’s very well organized and they were able to adjust our schedule overtime as we were patient with their long waitlist ( now I know why). Instructors know everyone by name and my 8 year old ( on the shy side) struggled with one of the moves and they picked up on it right away. It’s a great fit for all ages , mine are 5,8 and 11. I’ve watch them grow in confidence and discipline. Of note they picked up on each of their personalities quickly which I was impressed with.

Most importantly, our daughter loves going to class and has learned discipline and self control above all things. This martial arts school doesn’t simply teach martial arts. They teach the kids the history of the practice and stress the real life implications the practice can have on our children as they grow into adults. When my son turned two and showed interest in martial arts I was very excited, because I know that allowing him to participate in martial arts is a great way for him to explore and develop lifelong skills. Also, if I enroll him in a class I will get to enjoy watching him because I do miss training and being on the mat. So, when he turned four we went to Rise Martial Arts and did a trial class. He had a blast! My son has been doing classes for 6 months now and he absolutely love and enjoy going. He comes out of each class with huge smile on his face, and tells me every time we leave that he had fun at “martial arks”. Rise Martial Arts has exceeded my expectations in every way. My daughter began her initial instruction in martial arts at Canton Rise. I have been amazed at how quickly she has grown in both strength and self defense skills. Josh, the owner, provides a wonderful balance of discipline and heart. He holds his students to a high standard while at the same time providing feedback and praise. My daughter has gained strength and confidence this past year at Canton Rise. As a side note, I was concerned that she would be a first timer at the age of 12, but though there were others that had been there for a long time, she was able to join in seamlessly with others in her age group. Josh implements a wonderful teaching model, where he teaches classes based on age groups, but divides students in groups based on skill level, and then has them rotate through various stations/instructors during their lesson.

We just started in late October and my son loves going and asks every single day if he has class. Josh, Chelsea, and Trevor have been wonderful with him, and he is a 10/10 for energy and can be a handful at times but they have been fantastic working with him. He was 3 when he started, now he is 4, and he has learned so much already and is not only gaining martial arts skills but learning life skills too like how to pay attention better, how to learn how to lose, you can't always do what you want, and you have to try to get better at things, just to name a few. It is great that they take this extra step/interest in the kids that not everywhere would.

RISE has exceeded my expectations. My son started a year ago and has been thriving and thoroughly enjoying it. Each staff member shows such compassion for the school and its students. Master Fletcher sets clear expectations for his students while being strict, yet kind. I love that he incorporates a lesson (word of the day) into each class. This is a safe and clean environment.

I can’t say enough good things about Rise. Our goal was to get our 3yr old son some active play with friends and to really help build his confidence. On the first day, our son was really shy and only participated in a few things. Fast forward to his 3rd week where he is playing chase in the free time before class, yelling “Yes sir!” with the biggest smile on his face and interacting with others in the class. We plan to continue to go to classes and have him learning from Josh and team. Can not recommend this place enough.

We just joined Rise one month ago. We are thrilled with the atmosphere there and the positivity that is enforced. Along with the instructors’ discipline of paying attention and focusing, there is a vibe of fun that the kids really enjoy and get into. I still remember the first “try-out” day, my wife had to call me while I was at work to make sure the kids (7 & 5 yea old) listened and go check out the class at Rise Martial Art. Never did I expect that an hour later she excitedly called me to let me know that the kids were super stoked about the class! They couldn’t wait to attend their first real lesson! From that day on, I knew that I’ve found a beneficial biweekly activity for my kids that they will never get bored of. I took a half-day off to take my kids to their first lesson and totally agree with my wife’s opinion about this place - it is clean, spacious, professional staffs, and all parents & students there are friendly. It almost feels like this is a “hangout” place for both parents and students too! The best thing about Rise Martial Arts is that it is NOT only a place for my kids to learn Taekwondo, but also a school to develop their self-confidence and discipline. And the good thing is that all of the above dosage are given through fun, enjoyable activities throughout the class. Thanks to the creativity of the staffs at this Taekwondo school! We love Rise, all the employees are great. Master Fletcher is a great instructor, always has a life lesson to share with the kids & he smiles even when he yells. Whether you have an athletic kid or not, they will have a great time learning valuable self-defense techniques at this school. As a parent it makes me feel more at ease knowing my child can protect himself if he needs to and in today’s world at some point they will need to.

I absolutely love Rise. Both my boys have been enrolled for the past year and even thou they have a difference in age they both enjoy and made so much progress. I love how Josh is not only teaching them self defense, getting them stronger, but also how to cope with life and hard situations. There are enough instructors to make for smaller groups that are devised by skills so every child gets a change to be engaged and be able to learn better. I also love the cleanliness of the space and how wonderful everyone is. Feels like family.

My son was lacking confidence in himself, so my wife and I decided to sign him up for karate after a friend recommended Rise. It immediately had a impact on him. He was coming home asking to practice his moves, and wanted to show us what he was capable of. He has been attending Rise for a while now, and it continues to help his confidence. I stumbled across Rise while I was trying to find a Martial Arts class for my then 7 year old nephew. I figured that Martial Arts would be a great fit for him due to his very hyper nature. I reached out to Rise for additional information and to my surprise, I received a message back right away inviting us to a free trial class. Needless to say we were instantly hooked. The staff is amazing, the environment is super welcoming. 6 months later we are still there. Money well spent.

Our oldest daughter (11) was lacking confidence. We joined Rise Up the day that they opened. We honestly could not be happier with the staff. They teach much more than just martial arts. Its a way of life and great for self improvement and confidence. Each day they have a positive topic and explain it so well that it makes a huge impact on how they act and make decisions. I noticed such a huge difference in my oldest daughter that we got my youngest daughter involved. Age (5). I can not say enough about this school. I was able to get my brother involved with my nieces and nephews and we have both have noticed such a huge difference in our children. I would recommend this school to anyone that wants the best for their children. A+ for sure.

Instructors are great, very patient but also strict. Clean, welcoming dojo. I have no belt, but have taken different martial arts throughout my life. The instruction is great. My reason in signing my daughter up, was to help her to never to become a victim. I believe Rise is helping her to that end.

The growth we see in our children goes beyond the physical fitness, coordination, and discipline that I was expecting to see them develop at Rise Martial Arts. What I believe to be the differentiator for this school is the family of instructors who run it - Master Fletcher, Trevor, Chelsea. They’ve found a way to build an environment that exposes our children to developing self-respect, goal setting/achieving, commitment and consequences. This environment, while challenging, is open and friendly, which gives my kids courage to explore who they can be and express themselves as individuals. I have been trying to get my daughter involved in SOMETHING after school. I offered gymnastics, soccer, t-ball, girl scouts, and music/instrument lessons. It was always "No, mommy, I don't want to do that." I told her we were going to try a class at Rise, and she was immediately excited about it. She told EVERYONE. There was never any pressure to enroll her, but she smiled the entire class and she was so excited that we had to get her in. Master Fletcher, Mr. Trevor, and Ms. Chelsea are amazing with the kids. They are teaching them discipline and important life lessons that they will carry with them through life. I am so glad we found Rise!

RISE Martial Arts is a very good place to learn how to defend yourself. My daughter attends the school a few days out the week. This will help her build her confidence, learn balance, and give her the knowledge to defend herself. The instructor is very good with kids as are his assistants. The staff is beyond exceptional! Master Fletcher, Chelsea and the entire Rise team make you feel like part of the Rise family the moment you walk in the door. My 5yo son has been involved in numerous sports, including a few taekwondo studios and never showed as much excitement and dedication to anything, as he does his classes here. He has grown so much physically and mentally, with classes focusing on strength, respect and overall self-confidence. It is truly amazing watching the accomplishments he and his classmates make weekly. This is an amazing place for children to learn and grow as martial artists. With a master that is full of patience, kindness, and discipline, learning to rise up and achieve their potential is inevitable. I signed my daughter up early for the 5 year old class because I wanted her to get some exercise and learn self defense. She nor I was really sure of what to to expect as neither of us have ever taken a tae kwon do class before. But on the opening day we went and she had so much fun! Master Fletcher made her feel very welcome and was also very good at helping all the kids feel strong and capable of doing the forms he taught them. He was a very empowering and motivational leader. She was not only empowered and motivated to think she could do the forms well, she was having so much fun and was making good friends in the process! She came home from the opening day and asked when we could go back because she enjoyed it so much. You will not be disappointed if you take your children here!

Good programs and instructors. The major issue is the extremely loud club music that is always playing in the background. Martial arts is about focus and composure as much as it is about physical strength. The music is toxic to the environment and kids would come home with headaches. Tried to speak to the instructors a few times but they insisted to keep the extremely loud music blasted. If you don't mind the music then I would encourage you to join.
