We have been coming to Westland Metro Jiu-jitsu for their kids Jiu-jitsu program and grade school summer camp program. We have enjoyed the support from all coaches, staff and administration team for both the JJ and summer camp. We have seen the growth in our daughter in many aspects personally, physically and mentally thanks the Metro.

Metro Jiu Jitsu in Westland is a great gym. All the coaches are super friendly, patient, and explain techniques clearly, making it a great place to learn whether you’re a beginner or experienced. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and has a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

I’m so excited to see Metro open a SECOND location! The space is absolutely amazing—bright, clean, and spacious, creating the perfect environment to train. One thing I really appreciate is how Coach David adjusts the room temperature. He turns the heat all the way up, helping us sweat more, which is great for improving mobility during class. Coach Fox teaches excellent technique that’s both practical and effective. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, you’re guaranteed to learn something valuable that you can either apply right away or store for later. I’ve grown so much as a practitioner here, and the new location is an awesome addition to the already fantastic experience. Coach Jabril does a fantastic job with the kids’ program. He’s great at keeping the kids engaged while teaching them solid fundamentals. It’s inspiring to see the next generation of jiu-jitsu practitioners growing under his guidance. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area—whether for the kids’ program or adult classes!

My family has been part of MJJ for 5 years. We went out of our way to drive to the Southgate location and we’re so excited for the addition of the new location closer to home! This is a family-oriented environment filled with supportive good people. My son has grown on and off the mats thanks to the guidance of the instructors. If you're looking for a place where you or your entire family can thrive, both physically and personally, this is it. We can't recommend them enough!

Coach David and Metro Jiu-Jitsu are amazing! From day one, the atmosphere has been welcoming, motivating, and professional. Coach David is not only an expert in jiu-jitsu, but also an excellent teacher who breaks down techniques clearly and pushes you to be your best. Whether you’re just starting out or have been training for a while, you’ll find the perfect mix of challenge and support here. The gym is clean, well-run, and filled with a strong sense of community. What I really appreciate is how much emphasis is placed on both skill development and personal growth. If you’re looking for high-level instruction, a great team, and a coach who truly cares, Metro Jiu-Jitsu with Coach David is the place to be!
