Their beginners program is excellent for getting started in jujitsu and differs from other gyms as there's more individual tailoring, smaller class size and the summer discount was wonderful!

Very welcoming . I’m old with no experience. Everyone welcomed me. Very encouraging, and patient. Mats are clean, lots of natural sun light. Bruno is very welcoming. Definitely would recommend.

Visited from HQ. Extremely high quality instruction—on par or possibly better than what I have experienced at HQ and other RG affiliates in the city. Large but controlled class. Members seem committed and skilled. Highly recommend as home base for anyone in the greater Albany area.

I signed up for my first class on Monday, and had never done anything like this in the past. Everyone I have encountered there has been super welcoming, especially to such a newbie. Bruno has been great, and breaks down everything perfectly for someone like me with no experience. I encourage everyone to try it out, and I anticipate being here for the long haul!

It’s a great art form to learn especially from one of the best! Bruno has been killing it in the upstate region for 20 years and he has built a community of trust and friendship that goes beyond the mats. The second you walk through the door he welcomes you with open arms. Jiu jitsu is my therapy and has impacted my life a lot and I have him to thank for that.

I attended my first fundamentals BJJ class today at Renzo Gracie Academy Latham, and it was truly a great experience. The professor broke down each technique clearly and answered all of my questions. The class atmosphere was super friendly and supportive, and I left feeling motivated and excited to continue. I highly recommend this gym for anyone starting BJJ!

I recently visited the school to attend a seminar for another martial art that they so graciously hosted. As a relatively new practitioner to BJJ, I asked for permission in advance via email to join the classes and Professor Bruno quickly responded with a welcoming reply. When I met him in person, his energy along with the entire vibe of the school and student body was so friendly and warm. His teaching reflects his passion for the art and made me excited to learn more from him and his students. He made sure I was taken care of during the classes, along with one of the higher belt women there, who was incredibly polite and accepting. Everyone was approachable and supportive and did not make me feel like an outsider. You can definitely feel the sense of community here, the facility is beautiful and spacious, and everything is very clean. If you live in Latham or the surrounding area, you are very lucky to have this amazing BJJ academy nearby. If you are thinking about starting or continuing your training, definitely check out this awesome school first.

I never took bjj and I had my first fundamentals class today, so there is not much bias here. Everyone from the front desk, the owner, and the people I was on the mat with were extremely friendly. Also as uncoordinated as I was, all I received was helpful tips and zero judgement. I will be returning, hopefully to gain some coordination.

High quality jiujitsu club!! I go in the mornings a couple times a week. Training is intense, challenging and fun. The staff and students I’ve interacted with have been welcoming and friendly as they do their best to harbor a safe environment. Overall very skilled and talented group, I highly recommend this school to anyone looking to try something new, or to cultivate their jiujitsu skills. Great for kids as well.
