This is a great place to learn and train in martial arts. Andrew Kitterman is a most talented instructor in Nami ryu Aiki Heiho. The folks in the dojo are great to train with, and the connection was forged by the schools founder John Savaria at our headquarters dojo in Encinitas decades ago. If you like swords, jujutsu, and samurai lore, and live in the Albany area, you want to check out Albany Samurai Arts.

Can’t say enough good things about this school. If you’re looking for a seriously dedicated (and friendly) group of samurai arts (Aiki-Jukutsu) practitioners look no further. They offer professional instruction to all levels (beginners definitely welcome)! The wall to wall mats make learning rolls and other ground techniques very safe. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to use a sword (let’s be honest, who doesn’t?!) you have to come by and try a class!

Amazing instructors, super friendly environment, definitely the best martial arts dojo I have ever attended. Hyper efficient and applicable techniques. From what I have experienced in my life, it is the most in-depth and real world martial arts teachings infused with ancient tactics that create an absolutely extraordinary art. 100/10

This is a great school! Knowledgeable and patient instructors. Senior students are welcoming and always helpful and supportive. A great group to train with. Combines tradition and modern self defense. Do yourself a favor and check out class!
