I’ve been wrestling in the Capital District for over 20 years and have trained at a lot of different clubs. Clever Combat is hands down one of the best. The wrestling, Jiu-Jitsu, and Muay Thai programs here are top-notch, and the coaches really know how to bring out the best in their athletes. The wrestling program is amazing. The technique, intensity, and attention to detail are next level. Whether you’re just starting out or already competing at a high level, the coaches here know exactly how to help you improve. It’s not just about drilling moves—it’s about developing real skill and mat awareness. The Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai programs are just as impressive. The training is tough but supportive, and the atmosphere pushes everyone to get better. It’s the kind of place where hard work pays off, and you can really see the progress. If you want to take your training seriously—whether it’s for yourself or your kids—this is the place to be. Clever Combat is doing something special, and I can’t recommend it enough!

The staff, atmosphere, quality of instruction, and value are unmatched by any other MMA gym in the area. BJJ, Muay Thai, Wrestling, Yoga, and Weightlifting all under one roof. Do yourself a favor, and join the fight club.

Clever Combat is my home away from home. My colleagues and students are like my family. We have an amazing group of instructors from many different disciplines at a very high level, ask anyone who’s rolled with us. Clever combat is an outstanding gym to be a part of. The instructors are professional and talented in many different facets. Other members are welcoming, making it a great environment for beginners or more experienced people. The facility is clean and also has a lot of carnivorous plants to check out! I’m looking forward to continuing training and improving my skills with clever combat.
