I attended a graduation here. It was a great venue and the Guild Hall and University staff were great and ensuring the event went smoothly.
Such a good venue for music ...some absolutely amazing staff all happy and smiling 😁 happy to help and assist! Definitely shall be back ,! We were on the balcony vip and on the floor genuinely loved every moment
Went to the Take Down festival at the guild hall. A very regal building and a really great venue. I will be back next year and this time I will attend both days. Well worth the 3.5 hour drive.
Took my family member for a memorable early Christmas special, The Massed Bands of the Royal Marines Christmas Special, inside the Guildhall Portsmouth absolutely fabulous. I'd added the Hospitality Chautary board and pre ordered drinks from the bar, so glad this was done! this added to the night being more special, the staff throughout in the Guildhall were amazing, and the hospitality staff also throughout the evening, even assisting me with allergen information. Lol be careful of the security guard.. oh he was a chame, great with his banter and wit, had us laughing before even getting in the building, The Massed Bands...what can I say... Thank you so much for your service, Exceceptional, a very thought provoking performance, it certainly caused emotions, laughter and the use of your voice, I highly recommend. We sat in the side circle row FF, loved are seats but I didn't allow for our view to be impeded by a stop your fall rail, (To prevent those stumbling down the stairs going over into the crowd below potential) Great view and closeness barr that. But good knowledge for next time. Definitely worth pre booking in advance as we did. Couldn't fault the Guildhall in anyway. Toilet clean lifts available, disabled access, really lovely to see the lions at the front and the building wrapped in a bow. Loved our visit. 40+ years since our last vist A short walk from the IBis Hotel Taxi/UBER not required, benches and seating areas pubs and coffee stops along the way if you struggle with mobility like we did. Taking in the atmosphere was also a great part of the night, and we left early so we could bench hop our way there.
Had a lovely time here
Posted 3 weeks agoIt’s a great place to see live music We saw The Dead South and the view from the balcony was excellent. Staff were all lovely . Didn’t have a drink as the prices were shocking. considering there is a Wetherspoons opposite with pints for £3 , £8 was just a joke. Going forward , they have got to sort the heat out … the temperature in the auditorium was so hot , even The Dead South commented on it several times
I got to see this while returning from Portsmouth Harbour to train station. Really beautiful architectural work reflecting history. It is situated in just a minute from train station.
The Guildhall is a universal venue that has multiple experiences and evenings. I have been here several times to watch the LOL comedy evenings and now Al Murray. The venue is able to handle these shows very well but the only thing that let's it down is the cost of alcohol. I know you'd excited r it to be costly from a tap, but it's from cans and £28 for 2 cans of beer and 2 cans of gin was way over the top. That said there are plenty of places close by that serve drinks far more reasonably. It's a good venue and will be going again
