The staff are amazing, kind and hard working. Draven and Sam who run the mini ninjas are especially good with the kids (and incredibly patient 😁)

I highly recommend Gym01 to anyone looking for a BJJ club with an exceptionally high level of training. If you’re searching for top-quality Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, this is definitely the place to be. The coaches are excellent, especially Colin and Henry, who create a fantastic learning environment for everyone. The kids’ program is outstanding, and the adult classes are equally impressive. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced practitioner, Gym01 has something for you. Beginners are taught fundamentals in a supportive atmosphere, while advanced students have access to what is probably the best level of BJJ training in Portsmouth and the surrounding area. Even the beginners’ classes often include coloured belts, including black belts, which speaks volumes about the quality and culture of the academy. The standard of training here is truly exceptional. A friendly atmosphere, great coaching, and a very high technical level – I highly recommend Gym01 to anyone interested in BJJ

We were originally invited along by Daryl for a taster session. I came initially for a 6 week trial in Muay Thai and loved it. Gary is a really great/ experienced Muay Thai coach!! I had no experience in this style of martial arts at all, and my differences from a previous sport are very apparent and Gary supports me to improve and adapt. My children are now members and enjoy Kickboxing with Michael & Sam, BJJ with Henry and Muay Thai with Laura. The coaches are great with the kids.. i have a ND child and they are very supportive! The training is informative, thorough and suitable for all ages/abilities and wants from a martial arts. It’s not all about fighting and hurting each other! They are great technical classes for motor function, flexibility and fitness!

This gym is brilliant, you can start at any age. They got different martial arts and classes are multiple time a day so you can find a slot that suits you. They are also great with children and have different classes for them. Value for money I think it's the best one in and around Portsmouth.

I’ve been living in Portsmouth for nine years and I am annoyed that I didn’t join this place until January of this year. The atmosphere and environment is perfect for people who want to get down to business and better themselves. For ego lifters and Instagram influencers this place isn’t for you. I’d recommend this place to anyone who wants an atmosphere that will help them achieve their goals. There are no egos here. The equipment maybe slightly limited but it’s all functional and fit for purpose. There are plenty of weights and variety of exercise gear. The array of classes is also second to none. In particular you the sumo open mats which introduced me to the place to begin with. The staff are always very helpful and polite. Loved my time here. Highly recommend.

Gym01 is the best martial arts gym I have trained at. The community they have built makes training there so fun as everyone is like family. The staff and owners do a great job to make the gym the best it can be. They have top quality coaches and facilities that can help you get to where you want to be.

Gym01 is the best martial arts gym in Portsmouth. Their friendly and knowledgeable staff make it the perfect places for beginners looking to learn Kickboxing, Muay Thai of BJJ. What is also great is you don't need a second gym membership for lifting weights. Their 24 hour gym has everything you need to get all of your fitness in at one place.

My son started kickboxing at the age of 8 and by the age of 10 the change in his self discipline, behaviour & drive is absolutely remarkable. The coaches & staff are extremely professional & friendly and there is a strong family vibe at the gym. I’m very grateful for the positive role models in my son’s life. He is happy & thriving & wants to be at the gym doing what he loves all the time! Also…. Great coffee!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gym01 Portsmouth is absolutely fantastic! From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed and part of a community. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to help and support you in achieving your fitness goals. The variety of classes offered is impressive, and I personally love the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and kickboxing classes. The coaches are exceptional, providing expert guidance and motivation. What makes Gym01 even more special is that it's a great place for families. My two kids also attend Gym01, participating in the BJJ and kids' kickboxing classes. They always have a blast and are learning so much. The specialized sessions for juniors create a comfortable and inclusive environment for all ages. The facilities are top-notch, with spacious matted floors, well-maintained equipment, and clean locker rooms and showers. The community here is supportive and encouraging, making every workout session enjoyable and rewarding. I can't recommend Gym01 enough – it's the best gym in Portsmouth for both adults and kids!

Both my sons have been going to mma gyms now for 18 months and they’ve been at gym 01 for 12 of those months. This is easily the best gym they’ve trained at. They both do bjj with coach Henry who has helped them massively with their confidence. My older son also does boxing with coach andy who is very professional and it’s exactly what a parent likes to see. Best gym in the area by miles!!!!

Absolutely love this gym, such a welcoming place. Being a woman it can be quite overwhelming to join a new gym (especially if it’s a male dominated gym) however there are a lot of woman there to my surprise who are so lovely and friendly. I love how the coach’s treat you all equally. The coach’s are absolutely brilliant and patient. At times I struggled in the class due to being new but they are always willing to help and made sure I understood no matter how many times I needed help in classes! If you’re hesitant in joining this gym (like I was) don’t be. Best thing I did. Can’t wait to bring my little girl when she’s a little older! 😊
