Martial Arts America has changed our life. My middle son struggled with behaviors/ADHD and we were out of ideas on what to do to help him. We went to behavioral specialists and doctors…. nothing was working. I felt so helpless not being able to help him. He was struggling with school and at home. We had our friends recommend Martial Arts America and told us how great Master Martin is with working with kids with behaviors. We thought we would give it a try. Martial Arts America changed everything! We’ve seen my son’s behavior change, watched him not just survive but thrive in school and at home. I regularly get told what a wonderful, helpful kid he is by his teachers. I’m no longer afraid to pick him up from school/babysitters. He is not the same kid that walked through those doors in 2021. Master Martin has a fantastic program that teacher kids respect, the importance of being a first time listener, confidence, accountability and so much more on top of their martial arts skills. The entire staff is amazing from the front desk ladies (who know all the kids names and help you with anything you need) to all the instructors who really get on the kids level and not only teach respect but give so much respect to the kids. We have 3 kids now enrolled ranging from little ninjas to level 3 that all strive to be black belts one day. I cannot say enough good things about Martial Arts America and tell anyone I can to join.
Posted 2 years agoI've been impressed with how professional the program is, how engaging the instructors are, and their attentiveness and communication. 5 gold stars!
My oldest son has been taking classes at Martial Arts America for 5 years. We can’t express all of the positive things martial arts has done for him. We highly recommend Martial Arts America!!!!
Posted 4 years agoMy son joined Martial Arts America a year ago at the age of four. It has been an incredible experience to watch him grow in confidence and truly start to enjoy these classes every week. As a mom, I love that they teach life lessons and “stranger danger” tactics. It’s so much more than martial arts - it’s a positive environment for kids which helps them thrive. The instructors are so caring and take time out of class to address issues with the kids one on one. Highly recommend this for all boys and girls of any age!
Posted 4 years agoAmazing place my kids absolutely love it and have lots of fun in class. Instructors are great too and the classes are very affordable.
This place is awesome, instructors are awesome. Incredibly helpful, pacing is perfect, and you'll aquire more than just self defense skills. A place to bring the whole family to learn some martial arts and all the other skills aquired: Commitment, integrity, and of course disapline
Great people , the instructors are so wonderful and caring . I earned my black belt in April the instructors and the students make you feel so good about your self
We are so pleased with the program and have witnessed a noticeable difference in our little guy in just a few short weeks. His confidence has grown and he looks forward to the class each week. Master Martin is an incredible instructor and excellent with his students. He is encouraging, consistent and a true champion of his craft. Everything we have experienced so far has exceeded any expectation we could have had about it. We cannot say enough good things about Mr. Martin and his program.
Posted 4 years agoMy son is 4 and has only had one class, but he loved it. He talked about it for days. I'm really excited for him to continue. They are really great about working with my families crazy schedule too. My son is a little on the excited side of things and all of the instructors are great with him. They have incredible patience. Thank you guys!
Posted 5 years agoAn excellent non competitive Tae Kwon Do studio. Very family, and child friendly.
Excellent place to give a child balance and self-respect and respect for adults.
I searched for places to teach my child about protecting himself. From Fond du Lac to Green Bay, MAA is by far the place you want to take your whole family. (We chose all to do it to join in doing something as a family) The best thing I can tell you is this: You cannot "buy" a black belt at this school. It is an Invitation only, meaning you need to show them that you want to earn it. They start each session with the theme of the week, talking about Honor, Respect, Self Control, Attitude, and other words that people stopped teaching their children about a long time ago. They teach this is for DEFENSE, and with that they have a special program for kids that teaches how to get away from strangers trying to take them. Set up an appointment, tour their schools. See the respect that is throughout the facilities. Your search will end there, and you will want to sign up and you should. They respect all the people that come through as people, NOT checkbooks. There is a genuine love to teach from the Teachers there. It shows through and through.
Please be sure that your young child is 100% committed to karate and they are ok with all the items below before signing their contract. They will not let you out of the contract regardless of how displeased you are with their program. You should think long and hard before signing their contract. 1. The kids basically do the same moves every week. We went for 2 months and did the same thing every time. 2. One of the main reasons I signed up was to do karate with my son and we were never paired up or had any interactions during the sessions. 3. Limited opportunity for the kids to get to know each other. They focus more on listening to the teachers and saying “yes sir” than building community and friendships. 4. Rarely receive any feedback on your technique. I didn’t feel anyone was actually learning anything. 5. There is no sparring. 6. This is an “everyone gets a trophy” organization. If you want to feel challenged, don’t go here. 7. If I’m taught a move I should understand why, when, and how to use it. They don’t teach karate, they show you how to do karate moves. 8. Testing for your belt is a joke, everyone will “earn” their belt.
It was an awesome class overall, however our family is going through difficult times and we had to discontinue the class. I've attempted to contact the instructor several times over the course of a month with no acknowledgement of my contact. My automatic payment continued to come out even though my daughter wasn't in class. I've since had to dispute the amount with my bank and block future payments. I am also now in the process of filing a formal complaint with the state and possibly retaining a lawyer.
