This is the best place to learn or develop your Martial arts. It's great for children and adults. Whether it's the first thing you've ever done or you've been training in other gyms for years. My family trusts this gym. It's been amazing for my daughters to learn and grow.

I've been going to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for over a year now and it has been amazing! I was looking for a place to train striking and grappling, and for a place for my son to train martial arts too, and GJJ checked all the boxes. Coach Adam has been a great instructor and has is very patient with the children in the kids' classes. It's no wonder they've won best studio for so many years!

We’ve been part of Gracie Eugene Jiu Jitsu for 3 years now and our second child just started this month. It’s been a remarkable experience to see our self conscious child learn to have confidence on the mat over the years. The vibe is friendly, fun and also respectful with great life lessons scattered into every class. The coaches have all met my kids where they are developmentally. It’s great to see other families with kids in different levels, and many of our friends’ kids have joined over the years. Everyone has a good time and keeps it safe.

We enrolled our daughter in the homeschool bully-proof class, and we could not be happier with our experience at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Coach Adam is exceptional with kids. He is engaging, welcoming, and firm in exactly the right way to keep everyone focused and respectful. The anti-bully, self-defense philosophy is thoughtfully built into every lesson, which we truly appreciate. It is helping our child find her voice and build real confidence, all within a safe, supportive, and social environment. She leaves every practice with noticeable confidence and extra pep in her step. The facility itself is clean, organized, and well run, with plenty of seating for parents. We are also very grateful to have a Gracie BJJ school so close to home. This is our third experience with BJJ programs, and it is already clear that this one stands out above the rest. Organized, efficient, safe, and genuinely inclusive. Highly recommend for families looking for quality instruction and a positive, empowering environment for their kids.

Currently in our free trial program and very impressed. Coach Adam leads well, is teaching life skills along with the program and was able to get 2 very shy boys to participate. Great communication and clean facility. Highly recommend so far!

My daughter and I joined over a month ago and she is always so excited for Jiu Jitsu days. Coach Adam is great with all the kids and makes a very safe space for everyone. I have never studied martial arts in my life and I've had a great time diving in. Nothing feels too hard or complex to learn and everyone in the gym is helpful and patient with newcomers.

Excellent experience! After 6 years of initially contemplating going to a Jiu Jitsu class I finally did it. And honestly I am so glad I waited to attend Gracie Jiu Jitsu Eugene and take advantage of their 10-day free trial! Anywhere else I would have felt uncomfortable and/or intimidated and never go back, esp if it was a more competitive style studio. Luckily I was guided to the Gracie University approach. (Thanks Billy from Seattle!) Eugene studio with Adam, the managers, and fellow students, during the Woman Empowered class, made it so easy to feel relaxed & welcomed. They provide step-by-step coaching and along the way help build confidence needed to focus on yourself.

MMA is a great place for Adults and Kids! I wanted a great environment for my child to build self confidence and learn self defense. All the coaches are so wonderful. They creating a welcoming environment where even the most nervous kid (and adult) could thrive. I can’t say enough good things about Coach Adam, Shannon and Carrie. They make learning Jiu Jitsu fun and worthwhile.

My boys have been taking lessons at McKenzie Martial Arts for over two years and it has been the best experience. Not only are they learning how to protect themselves and others but they are learning social skills and the best way to handle themselves in all possible situations. The goal is never to harm anyone but to keep all from being harmed. The instructors are one of a kind, supportive, kind, and positive. We feel lucky to have found them!

Super welcoming when I showed up a few weeks ago. Everyone has been so kind, supportive, and encouraging. It’s been a comfortable experience slowly getting used to doing new things. No one judges and everyone has been so helpful. I can see myself staying here for many years!!

If you're looking for a fun and family friendly environment for learning martial arts, you found it! The coaches are supportive and knowledgeable. There are a range of classes to choose from. The Women Empowered class is excellent. Teaches women how to defend themselves from some of the most common attacks. I've been doing this class for a few year and love it. They have free 10-day trials. It's worth it! You're worth it!

The best place to send your child to learn Jiu-jitsu in Eugene. My son just loves going to his class there! Always friendly and very professional staff, a very convenient schedule, and a lot of special classes your child can attend for free. And don’t forget about the Sumer Camps!

Our family loves GJJ Eugene! We have experience with both the little champs and junior classes. Our 4yo was very nervous to even participate in class but now he’s asking if he can go every day! So much of that is due to Coach Adam and Coach Shannon (as well as all of the helpers). They were patient and engaging with him throughout it all and it’s had an incredible impact to his confidence—both on the mat and off.

My son has attended this gym for almost a year. He has also attended camps during summer. I enjoy watching him learn and grow. The coaching staff provides a safe and positive environment for my son to step out of his comfort zone and try new things. He gets to be a leader and have a voice during sessions. I also love the accountability and discipline expected by the coaches. They are definitely warm demanders who do not punish kids, but uphold expectations and ask that they follow the rules for the safety and learning of all students.

This studio has something for everyone! I have tried taking martial arts for self defense before at other studios but I wasn't able to stick with it for various reasons, but at McKenzie Martial Arts I have had none of those issues. The program is an excellent balance of serious self defense, taught in a fun way! Jiu jitsu is a high contact martial art and I highly appreciate that I am always able to do the drills with other women. I have gained so much confidence in being able to protect myself or others. Sign up for a trial, you won't regret it. Hardest part is walking through the door for the first time!

Gracie Jiu Jitsu Eugene has become a shell opening her my daughter. She was very hesitant to try any new activity. Dance wasn’t her thing, gymnastics or ballet didn’t entice her. She was pretty shy and felt like she needed more strength in her character by feeling confident against the outside world. Her anxiety has become something she easily overcomes now since she’s has been attending this studio. When she puts in her Gi it’s like she transforms into a confident student who is ready to learn and she will carry that with her to school, which is very important. The staff are so friendly and kind, and the App they have to use is user friendly and so helpful! The studio is clean and fun!

Gracie Jiu-jitsu has been so good for our son (7 yo)! The coaches are kind and patient while firm and teaching focus, respect and excellence. I love the Gracie game day chapters that allow them to earn badges for manners, responsibility, citizenship, etc. Thank you to all the coaches!

I am a member of the women empowered group which is aptly named. There are no other classes like it in the area. The environment is friendly, welcoming, encouraging and warm. The staff is simply amazing. Every time I go I have so much fun learning a very worth while skill.

I had previously done some of the Gracie Jiu Jitsu women empowered DVD training, but came to a WE event here and signed up to come regularly and am SOOOO glad I did! I love all the instructors, they are super encouraging and help make sure you’re executing the techniques correctly. Unlike online learning you get instant feedback and help if you don’t understand a certain move and you get extra tips and pointers! Highly recommend McKenzie Martial Arts to anyone wanting to learn self defense!

Wonderful program. The teacher is excellent and has great class control and interaction with each kid, even in huge classes, which are quiet and well run and professional. I love that they incorporate how to handle a bully and life skills. The badge/values optional program has been a really great motivator for our son as well. His confidence has grown so much.

I can't say enough about McKenzie Martial Arts. My 14-year-old daughter takes two classes a week there and loves it. From the day we signed up, the whole staff has been wonderful and attentive to her. Since she was a shy 12-year-old when she started, that was a huge relief to me, as what I know about martial arts could fit on the head of a pin. The coaches take the time to communicate with my daughter and make sure she's comfortable with her sparring partners. Safety and respect are cornerstones of the club, and that really puts my mind at ease. The communication from MMA is excellent. They employ an app for students and parents to follow the class schedules and uniform requirements, and access videos of all the lessons they've experienced in class so they can get extra practice. There are emails a few times a week to keep everyone abreast of any scheduling changes or opportunities. I would--and frequently do--recommend Gracie Jiu Jitsu. I'm very pleased with our choice!

We have a couple younger kiddos in this program and we cannot say enough good things about how this program is run. The Coaches are top notch. Our 6 year old and 7 year old have left class multiple times telling us that they want to do jujitsu for the rest of their lives. We believe that the unique environment that is fostered at McKenzie Martial Arts is a HUGE reason why they love it so much. Thank you to this incredible team of people.

Always clean, encouraging, and professional. MMA has an inclusive and welcoming culture. It is clear they coach all members to have self, social, and situaltional awareness. It shows because from children to elders MMA folks are kind and considerate. I have enjoyed the Gracie JJ Women Empowered classes immensely. Coaches Shannon, Kerry, and Adam are personable, patient, and skilled teachers. Each use humor, emphasize critcal thinking, and inspire you to do your best. Come try it out!

7 years in and my child still absolutely loves his time on the mat. Coaches are knowledgeable, patient, supportive, and invested in every student. Members are welcoming and excited to share in student growth. My child is learning lifelong skills that will benefit him for the rest of his life, on and off the mat. Highly recommend.

Our son and daughter started with Gracie Jiu Jitsu Eugene at age 4 in 2020 and are still attending and loving it now. It’s not an exaggeration to say Owner/Head Instructor Adam is the best coach my kids have encountered in all their (very robust) sporting endeavors. His entire staff are honed in on what sets their program above the rest, and execute that mission with precision week in and week out. Our kids not only love attending class, training, and connecting with their peers, but the confidence their Gracie Jiu Jitsu skills give them in life is astounding and continues growing all the time. On top of that, they wait all year for the summer camps to come back around - a whole separate level of epic. Highly recommend at least trying the free trial, you will not want to leave!

McKenzie Martial Arts has been (and continues to be) a great experience for my son and me. The youth program(s) take a great anti-bullying approach and teach not only great Jiu-Jitsu, but also foster great life skills and a whole host of other intangibles, all wrapped up in a safe and fun environment. With zero martial arts experience myself, I was really impressed watching the technique being taught to the youth programs and wanted to try it out myself. I was nervous to try something so foreign to me, but the environment and the vibe from the coaches and other members is very welcoming. The coaching and the people have been great. I only wish I had time to go more often.

Coach Adam and Coach Shannon have been wonderfully welcoming and supportive. I was a bit intimidated to start something new like this, but it has been really great. They walk you through each new move, slowly demonstrating and talking through all the steps, and then giving us plenty of time to practice. And they create a great safe space for asking questions.

This is an amazing martial arts school. You can learn Gracie Jiujitsu and JKD/Kali from world class instructors who care deeply about all the students and their progression in a safe and professional environment. It has a self-defense focus throughout many of the programs, which gives students confidence to navigate the real world safely using a Gracie mindset. The school is really a phenomenal place to train and be part of a community that is all about helping each other learn and grow as martial artists and citizens. I highly recommend anyone who is curious about Gracie Jiujitsu and/or JKD to sign up for a trial. See you on the mats!

Thank you Gracie Jiu Jitsu Eugene for teaching me the skills needed to protect myself and my loved ones.
