I am Honored to have the opportunity to train under Master Chief Jermaine Andre. This program is unlike any you will find and doesn’t just teach Fight. We discuss martial arts history, philosophy, real life application and how Art mimics life. The empowerment I’m building in the dojo has absolutely come out in every aspect of my life outside the dojo. Martial arts has also helped me to regulate my emotions, face fears, find clarity in life (and therefore make better decisions), have fun moving my body, be more aware of my surroundings and confident traveling solo as a Female. The Dojo is clean, private, inviting and grounding. I feel so comfortable tapping into my most primal Human energy and I wish for everyone to experience connecting with the Fighter inside of them.

I could say how Mr. Andre is an excellent martial artist and proficient in multiple styles. I could say how he has a great record as a previously active MMA fighter before mixed martial arts rose to prominence. I could say how he is a tremendous athlete who does not let age dictate his physical prowess. I could say how he is experienced beyond combat sports and has an array of connections in the realm of self-defense, garnered from his time putting his hard work and style to the test. I could say all of these things and more about Mr. Andre, however, these things are not the reasons as to why I would recommend him to others. My heartfelt recommendation stems from his ability to connect with a person, educate them, and empower them through the martial arts, regardless of their skill level, physical ability, disability, background, education, and personality. I have seen many people come under his wing during my time with Mr. Andre, and they come from all walks of life. There are people who have never thrown a punch before in their life with no martial arts background. There are people who are starting again after a long break, well into their lives, and are looking to retrieve lost experience. There are people who have excellent physical ability, and there are those who are beginning to develop theirs. There are people with physical difficulties and disabilities. People from any profession. Mr. Andre works with and accommodates them all, with specific martial arts techniques and instruction at the ready, presented in a way to be most easily absorbed and digested by that individual. In regards to his martial arts instruction, I have been with Mr. Andre for over three years now, and I have seen firsthand his ability as a martial artist which has been tempered by his time as an active fighter. There is no skill that he does not teach that he himself cannot do, no matter how complicated or physically demanding it may seem. But, what Mr. Andre impressively brings is his acumen in this realm-- he is able to explain a technique’s utility in multiple situations, be it combat sports or for self-defense, and how to best apply it. Personally, I have brought many questions before him about multiple techniques, from the basic 1-2, to more intermediate topics such as how to best practice footwork during rolls for optimal striking positions in an open stance (for both punches and kicks), and every time, he had a conscientious and deliberate answer waiting for me. Every time. This goes beyond techniques as well. He has stratagems developed for sport fighting that he hones for you, talks through more realistic scenarios and what can be done with what you have learned. It’s these personalized answers that he has ready for you that shows how effective he is as an educator. There are many people who are effective teachers and instructors of martial arts and the techniques therein, but there are few people out there who can educate, not just teach and show, a person their domain of expertise. He accommodates a person’s method of learning, physical status, and skill to deliver his best level of instruction to that individual. With this, he also shows how best to develop yourself physically to progress in the realm of physical education. Despite all of these things and everything he does know about the martial arts, what made me believe most in his ability to educate and teach is not what he does know, but that he knows what he does not know, and, furthermore knows where to send you to learn that which he does not. There is plenty more I can say about Mr. Andre. But, words simply won’t do for something that must be experienced firsthand. Mr. Andre is all of these things and more to me, and he can be all of this to you as well. If you are eager to learn and ready to devote the time, effort, and training to him, then Mr. Andre will absolutely help break through your limits, transform you into a better version of yourself, and discover your potential through the martial arts.

I personally felt like the price was very steep at $1125 for 3 months (this was the silver plan) or 12 sessions so that would be $93.75 for one 1-hour session. And I understand that private lessons are going to cost a lot, but I felt like it still wasn't worth it. You weren't really paying for 1 hour, you were paying for about 45 minutes which makes it even less worth it (b/c Jermaine would always come 5 minutes late and have you warm up for 10 minutes) and the pacing of the sessions was way too slow. He would keep having me review moves I was already extremely familiar with and he would spend at least half of the time we met on review (which makes the $ even less worth it). It's not necessarily bad he's taking things slow and making sure I really get the moves down, but when you're paying $93.75/hour it feels like money's being wasted. It also didn't help that during my sessions, he would leave the room a decent amount to do other things which I felt was disrespectful considering how much money I had to pay for his services. However, Jermaine is a great guy, he was always warm, welcoming, and friendly and I felt that the selection of moves and drills was good. I also met some other great guys during the program. However, for the price of JAMMA, you could probably find an MMA gym that not only gives once/week private lessons but also an open gym 6 days/week whereas JAMMA only provides the once/week private lessons. Speaking of which, another con of JAMMA is that it's way too small to have an open gym and I think that an open gym where you can train everyday is important.

Man where do i even start, I came to Jermains Dojo when i was 15/YO. I am now 19/YO. Jermain was very welcoming & had good energy from the jump. I went into jermains JAMMA program thinking i was just gonna get trained to "Fight". Boy was i wrong. Jermain became more than my Sensei, He became my mentor. Over the years we developed a strong relationship that is unbreakable. Jermain teaches like no other, i personally went into private sessions where its more detailed/personalized work. This was the best way for me to learn, and Jermain knew exactly how to train me and get me to the level i'm at now. This was a life changing experience and was priceless. Even tho i moved away. Me and Jermain still keep in contact to this day. I would recommend JAMMA to anyone who is serious about there mental health and well being, Not just to learn how to "Fight". This is on a deeper connection and a deeper level of understanding. This is family. Thank you MC !

Everything and everyone isn’t for everybody. Sometimes it’s a matter of that individual asking themselves “what is it they’re truly searching for?”. A belt, a quick fix, maybe the glorious arts they see from Jackie Chan on TV. I can tell you from my own training, travels and familiarity with many practitioners..you’re tremendously undervalued for not just the martial skill set but real life experience as a fighter you bring and the true martial artist spirit you impart. It’s in that spirit that I wish Vincent success in his pursuits wherever they’re at. I’ll personally cast my lot at JAMMA.
