Josh is such an amazing coach. There’s so much he taught me that I use in my game daily😂🤣plus he has a LEGIT answer for basically every question that’s absolutely legit and works, which is kind of magic. All the other coaches are great there too, but Josh is the primary nogi coach which I like nogi a lot. Anyways I had to move and therefor change gyms but this place is highly recommended.
Posted 7 months agoI signed up my son at Technics Jiu-Jitsu when he turned 5 years old, and I’m so glad I made that choice. From day one, the coaches have been amazing. They strike the perfect balance between being firm when needed and creating a positive, encouraging environment for the kids. It’s clear that they truly care about their students’ growth, both on and off the mat. The coaches focus on teaching solid fundamentals, which not only helps build my son’s skills in jiu-jitsu but also teaches him discipline, respect, and perseverance. I’ve noticed how much more confident and focused he’s become since he started training here. It’s incredible to see his progress, not just in the techniques he’s learning but also in his overall attitude and confidence. The community at Technics Jiu-Jitsu is also fantastic. There’s a real sense of camaraderie and support among the kids and parents, which makes every class enjoyable. I couldn’t be happier with our experience, and I highly recommend Technics Jiu-Jitsu to any parent looking to get their child started in martial arts. It’s been one of the best decisions we’ve made!
Posted 12 months agoMy wife and I took a long break from jiu jitsu during the pandemic and also had a baby. Went back for my first official class this week and they welcomed me back with open arms. Lots of new people and some familiar faces still. Glad to be back home, no other place I’d train. We live in NE Portland and drive to Troutdale to train.

From the moment I stepped through the doors, I knew I had discovered a place that not only fosters exceptional martial arts training but also a supportive and empowering community. The instructors are second to none, displaying unmatched expertise, patience, and dedication, creating an environment where gender is never a barrier and where every student is treated as an equal. The welcoming and friendly atmosphere, coupled with the strong sense of camaraderie among practitioners, feels like a true family. The gym's excellent facilities and variety of class options contribute to safe and comfortable training experiences. What sets this gym apart is its commitment to inclusivity and diversity, actively encouraging women's participation in Jiu-Jitsu, and providing unwavering support to all. My reservations as a female practitioner quickly faded here, and I have been inspired to push myself beyond my limits. This gym is an exceptional place for any woman looking to excel in Jiu-Jitsu, and I am proud to be a part of this remarkable community!
Posted 2 years agoThe kids class is awesome. My kid loves it and so do I. The coach's are wonderful and really take the time to make sure the kids are getting the technics down. The kids are so proud of themselves when the earn a new strip, mine can't stop talking about it for days. Thank you coach Nicole for telling us about it.
